  1. so if I pull the fuse to a car component that is drawing current, would not the amps displayed on the meter increase, since the parasitic component is no longer drawing current?
  2. I have the same mysterious issues w/ my 1998 legacy gt.....I checked the wiring harness for the terminal leads [i removed it for testing when I went to get the new battery, the parts store said it was flowing current] and put a new battery in, next day the car was dead again. The next morning, my new battery was dead again.....argh! Sounds like I've got some testing to do. I'm a noob at this, but how do you actually test the fuses, with a meter?
  3. My 98 Legacy GT has 128k on it and I had the orig. clutch plate/s replaced at 110k - pretty good lifespan for an orig. clutch. However, at 89k, I had to preplace the clutch MC, then at 110 I had to replace not only the orig. clutch, but also the clutch MC and Slave. Now, I got the dreaded ever increasing clutch throw to nothing syndrome and barely made it to my trusty neighborhood shop [try driving in 3rd thru city traffic without stopping in downtown rush hour traffic on a friday!!!]....... I am anticipating another go around with replacing the Slave and quite possibly the MC. Anyone know if 20k on a slave is common, once the cycle of replacement begins? I can't believe it's so, but want to know if any of the other BB members have had this recurring problem....I plan to keep the car another few years since it's paid for!
  4. jeez, if it wasnt 10 deg. out I'd do the same thing to my car which has the same exact problem/s......argh!
  5. don't worry about it - just turn up the radio louder. All subs do this eventually, and it's not worth the cash or trouble to fix it.....
  6. my 98 legacy gt, seems to eat slave cylinders every 20k - this problem started around 90k and I have almost 130 k....and right now my car is in the shop to probably get yet another slave put on today!!!! Yay! I still like the car, but come on! a slave should last longer than 20k!
  7. 98 Legacy GT....I had to replace my clutch MC and Slave at 89k, then again at 110k and now it's sticking down again at 128k!!!.......I had a new clutch to replace the origional clutch, installed at 110k also. This somehow doesn't seem right, 20k from a clutch slave cyclinder? I don't abuse my car, and I got almost 110k from my orig clutch plates, so I have to believe there is something inherently wrong/designed with the Subaru clutch Master cylinder/slave cylinder arrangement..... what a pain in the neck!
