  1. Most re-assuring eddygordouk... I appreciate the input. I'll defiantly let everyone know how things turn out
  2. Good morning everyone... just a quick question. I've heard that the engine they put in the 04 Forester XT (the 2.5 DOHC turbo) is the same motor they put in the 04 STI, minus different intake, exhaust, ignition, and intercooler/turbo.... but the internals are the same. Is this true? There is nothing I'd love more than to throw in some new headers, cams and pulleys into my baby, but NO ONE makes parts for my car.. not even in Japan. There are several upgrades available for the STI motor though... Thanks!!

  4. I bought my Forester 2.5XT in June of 04 and I already have 60k miles on it. Aside from tires, brakes, and those other maintenence items, I haven't had a single thing go wrong. Nadda. The car runs as strong as it ever has, I prototyped for the K&N intake and it opened it up quite a bit... made it sound waaaay cool too. I've had the car on a couple rally tracks and it keeps up with some of the big guys. You will NOT be disappointed with the 2.5 turbo. -Ken
  5. Well, I just did my brakes all the way around this weekend. Things went smoothly aside from the hastle of finding the right pads. Had the rotors turned and I cleaned the calipers thoroughly... adjusted the e-brake and slapped it back together without any issues. Two days later, I started to hear a very strange "rubbery" sound coming from the passenger side rear wheel. The sound is ONLY made when the pedal is pressed, and only at lower speeds (below 30mph). The speed of the sound matches the revolutions of the tire and is intermittent. I can feel no vibration in either the steering wheel or in the brake pedal... at first I thought it might be a torn boot but they are all in pristine condition. It's definatly not a scratching/scraping noise... and it sounds nothing like any other 'brake' related noise that I am used to. I haven't had a chance to pull the wheel back off yet (had to work today, damn Mondays) but plan on doing so as soon as I get home. Any ideas?
