not that i am realy a where of. i most likely done ofter doing some 4 wheeling last week. it was after that that i notice it. i hit a couple ruts purdy hard on the driver side. do you the standing water. i think i would rahter have a new one but my funds are limited right now. and might be cheaper to get in a junkyard. anyway let me know what you think. Lost in the Rainforeststock size is the only option that i know of. but new, not used. at 20 years old the stock ones have seen better days.did you hit anything to bend it?
-
i guesse what i alooking for would be the radius rod. the end peice is fine but the metal rod is bent. so can i go heavier on that?Have you been breaking tie rods? i've wheeled pretty hard and never had one go bad, the radius rod sure, thats junk, but the tie rods seem to hold their own. -
i am looking to posiblily put heavier tie rods on my 88GL wagon. from what vehical whould i get them from? and what mod do i need to do if any? i would preferre not to do any if posible. Lost in the RAINFOREST

this reason i ask is i bent my driver side tierod the other day and was just curious about it is all. i am going to be replacing it soon and thought i would check to see if there was a heavier one i could puton. lost in the Rainforestwaht doo yuo need hevier tie rods four? i have hit mein on lotz of stuffs and tehy r fine.Okay, seriously. I really doubt there are any stronger tie rods that will bolt right up without major modification. Even if they did, I don't really see the need myself, as I pretty well beat on my car and my tie rods are just fine.

well i got my defroster working. it was some vacuum lines that came undone. thanks for the info.
-
lol yeah i figur that. it just with everything off (heather, radio, ect..) the fuel sounds really loud in my car. can hear it in the driver seat.well for the average car guy you may hear the pump running unevenly.for those of us that are auto tecs you can do a current ramp test to check the amp draw and view the signal. with this test you can pick out a bad spot on the pump motor.
you can also check pressure and flow as well.
it gets real obvious when the pump just quits.

what are signs og failurefor a fuel pump? i have a ea82 in a 88 GL

ok all whats the EGR valve for? what fuctune does it provide and does it hurt not to have it hook up? i notice that mine wasn't hook up today when i was hunting down a vacuum leak for my defroster. took me a while to hunt down what the part was but find what it funtune was. anyone know?

i have a ea82 its an 88GL 5spd d/rare you working with an ea81 or ea82?suspension lifts arent incredilbly popular among subarus because of the increase in axle stress and failure... it is still done alot, but many people rebuild their axles using differant parts that can hold up to the stress better and also drop the engine/tranny craddle and the rear differantial carrier. if you go with a suspension lift you WILL ecounter problems driving on the street because your camber will be thrown pretty far off and you will have to be creative when trying to find a solution, because its either not easy, or will require a ton of fab work. you can use struts of differant vehicles to gain the amount of lift you want, but dont ask me for details because I havent done it, theres tons of information about that. there are also tons of information about springs and cartridges out there too, but again I dont know details. somethings i have heard of that you might try searching for are scorpion springs and toyota startlet(sp?) cardtridges.
i dont know anything about struts, but if you fit a higher rate spring thats the same length, or a taller spring you will also have to change the shock cartridges accordingly. you may be able to find most of the information for that by looking at spring and shock specification/applications guides that you find at most parts stores.
