  1. I have a 95 Legacy LSI wagon. It may have had keyless entry at some point, but I bought it used and never got the remotes. It's got a built-in security light on the dashboard to the left of the steering wheel that flashes red. The alarm is just the lights flashing and the horn honking, no siren or anything. When I lock the car, sometimes the alarm goes off without provacation, sometimes it doesn't. There's no way to predict this and it's getting really annoying not being able to lock the car. I looked around this site and found some other mentions of alarm problems, but I'm not sure exactly what I'm facing. I saw links to the cars101 information about the Code Alarm, but I can't find a button anywhere under my dashboard, just lots of wiring harnesses. Another post mentioned a black box with two harnesses plugged into it, which I also don't have. There is a silver box of some sort, but nothing on this indicates that it has to do with keyless entry (which I don't even know that I have) or any sort of alarm. Can I pull a fuse, cut a wire, disable the horn entirely (thought the lights would probably still flash), or do something, ANYTHING to trick the car into not arming the alarm? I hate not being able to lock the car and would gladly give up the horn completely if I could start to do this. Thanks for any advice.
  2. I found this forum while searching for a fix for a similar sounding problem with my 95 Legacy. My tires are all decent and properly inflated, and I've noticed this shuddering type feeling, particularly with cornering on bare pavement. When there's snow on the ground, I've not had this problem at all. I thought it might be CV joints or wheel bearings, but my mechanic said these all looked good. He suggested that it might be something with the 4-wheel drive sensors - but you're saying that it might be just in need of a transmission flush. I'll look into putting in the FWD fuse, this sounds sort of promising to me.
