  1. That sounds like it. Knowing the correct values would be helpful. Thanks! How many watts is it? I'm thinking I could just solder a single resistor or two and switch to replace the factory one... Rob
  2. Just noticed that I've hijacked this thread... My apologies to the OP. Rob
  3. OK, thanks for the tips! I'll probably have to wait till the weather gets a bit warmer, and of course at that point I won't need the heat anymore! I do have a spare, what looks like a relay - could that be the problem? It came with the car, and the previous owner said that needed replacement. Rob
  4. Is this what would cause my blower motor to only run after the cars been on the road for 10 minutes or so? It seems to be that I've got to play with the different buttons before the blower actualy starts. It's a '91 Legacy. Thanks, Rob
  5. OK - I feel better now. Just wasn't sure as I've never driven a car before where you can actually see the gas gauge spiral downwards! It's not a TDI, but it drives better in the snow than the TDI does! That's what makes it fun! Thanks! Rob
  6. I originally posted this in the old generation forum, but it should be here instead. I've got a '91 Legacy Turbo and it seems my mileage is quite low. For a full tank of gas, if I let it go right down past the "E" mark, I just get about 400-450kms (250miles). I don't drive it (too) hard and generally keep it about 100km/h or 2500rpm on the highway. Most of my driving is in town, though when on a 3200km trip over Christmas, my mileage did improve somewhat. Is this "normal" or to be expected for this age of car? I think it's got the 2.2l engine in it and power everything - and it all mostly still works! I love the car, but compared to my summer ride (Golf TDI) the fuel consumtion kills me! Rob
  7. Thanks for your feedback. I'm new to the Subaru world, and just asumed that it being a '91 it was an "older" generation model! I'll also get some of the basic tune-up stuff done as well. I've only been doing oil changes so far... Rob

  9. Hi everyone, I'm enjoying the forum. I've always like the Subaru lineup, shopped for them many times when new car buying, but never ended up with one. I was forced into buying a "winter beater" this year and as luck would have it, I found a 1991 Legacy Turbo AWD in excellent shape. A little body work welding underneath and she passed the safety inspection. It's got about 250k kilometers on it now and I look forward to putting on many more! Rob
