  1. That picture is perfect. It looks like all my lines are hooked up correctly. The line that is labled "to breather lines" is what I was calling the metal lines, this does connect to a little metal line that snakes under the intake, right. Anyone have any experience with a Code 44 and what the solution was. My problem is combined with a Code 22(knock sensor). The car will hesitate and shut down for a second then do it again but only under boost conditions. Runs great otherwise. Thanks for the help and this is a great site. I never thought there would be this kind of support for these cars. Thanks, Dan
  2. Sorry, the picture didn't come through like it should have and I can't past the drawing I made?
  3. I have an 87 Subaru XT GL-10 Turbo that I just got running again. Its showing a code 44 (Turbo Duty Solenoid). I had the vac hoses off when I changed the turbo and wonder if I had them on the right way. I know this is a bad picture but if you know the selonoid then this should make sense. To Compressor Housing To Wastgate Actuator | | | ________________ | | | |_|__ | _____| | |__________________ _____| |___| | |_______________| To metal vacuum lines not directly to intake mani There is a vac line directly from the back of the intake manifold that I thought should be hooked up to this solenoid but it is hooked to another pressure sensor located above this solenoid and has some wires running to this solenoid. Thanks in advance, Dan
  4. Thanks, I saw that sensor but hoped it might be somewhere else. Looks like I have to take a lot of things off just to get to it. I priced one at Auto Zone $149.99. Ouchh, is there anywhere else cheaper? Thanks, Dan
  5. Can anyone tell me where the knock sensor is located on a 1987 Subaru XT. The Chilton book simply says on the block. The knock sensor is the last code I have to clear and the car should run fine. Are there any secrects to a bad knock sensor, kinda like how the coolant sensor is always just the corroded wires? Thanks, Dan
  6. I have a 1987 Subaru XT GL-10 Turbo that was sitting garaged for 7 years. The fuel pump had failed and the gas was so bad in the tank it wouldn't flow from the hose at the tank. The fuel pump is replaced and the the tank is flowing again but the fuel pump will start making a terribly loud noise after a few minutes of operation and the pressurized line line vibrates real bad. The pump flows fine and there is no noise when I run a hose off of it and jump it from the battery. This is the second fuel pump this month since I though I got a bad one after the first one made so much noise. The return line is not clogged, I blew air through it with a pump. There is a lot of fuel pressure but not sure how much. I pulled the line off under the hood and it did spray hard for about 5 seconds. I thought it could be the pressure regulator but that would mean it would be running very rich with the extra fuel pressure and there is no black smoke like its running rich. Actually the car will choke or stumble real hard under boost like its not getting fuel but idles fine and runs well under no boost conditions. The codes stored were 44 (boost selinoid), Code 22 (Water temp. sensor) Replaced but still showing up Code 41 (Knock sensor), I can't even find this sensor. Anyone every had a similar problem or have any ideas. Thanks in advance, Dan
