  1. On the Legacy forum, a dealer tried the conditioner for a leaking HG (don't recall which year but it was "new"). The end result was a thown rod but, SOA picke dup the tab on an enginer replacement.
  2. The mechanics are Speen Street, Framingham? Are they on the corner of Rte 30 & Speen Street? I can't seem to place them anywhere else, further North just seem to be the office parks. What type of work have you had them do? I've had no problems with Natick Subaru service, but competition is good.
  3. I too have used (Natick & now) Metrowest Subaru for quite a while now. They ain't cheap but seem to be honest and, pragmatic. I (the wife) was a headgasket case a few years ago and they really did help shop around to see if a rebuilt would be cheaper than rebuilding my blown engine. Spend some money there and smile nice (or, have someone smile nice for you) and they seem pretty liberal with loaner cars i.e., free rental. I think the service department stayed intact with the sale to Metrowest and the new management does not seem to have disrupted the way they work nor service. Here's a related question, is Metrowest now under Earnie Boch or still an independent?
  4. I never figured this out but, suspected a drain plug (hidden under the spare tire) in an 87 Camry was allowing water to accumulate in the tire well. Filled about half the space with rusty brown water (easily 2 gallons). Opened the plug, let the water out and then cleaned the plug and never had the problem again. The actual trunk was dry and, this plug was the only opening into the well aside from the piece of masonite covering the spare which, did not have any water stains.
