Thanks again! I get a system to lean error from obd11. and the po130 from o2 sensor rears its head again. I am hopeing it is the pump? I will let you know soon. Thanks for the info I have not needed a manual till recently. Currently my frontier is undergoing a timing belt change and the soob is not playing well I have to get one running for my wife by 7am. I will let you know! THANKS

Thanks to all!!! my 2003 has 104000 miles on it. Lots of start and stop driving and nassssty Montana weather to put up with. I have changed the o2 sensor the coolant temp sensor fuel filter plugs/ wires and have kept it maintained. Currently hesitation problems and high lows in idle as well as I think I can hear the fuel pump straining to pump??

any info on changing the fuel pump on a 2003 outback sport? Any reason to not change it yourself?

I will replace the coolant temp sensor! Thanks. FYI new plugs and wires fuel filter air filter. For some reason isopropyl helps if it is acting up. I have had this problem for several tanks of gas the last were 91 octane. I tried seafoam in gas tank it was a temp fix as isopropyl is. Hopefully this info may help.

Where does one get an OBD11 SCANNER FOR A HUNDRED BUCKS?temp guage looks great, just took a road trip got mid 20s on the interstate at 75 mph but in town it drank the gass fast 13 or lower new plugs new air and fuel filter no codes low idel at stop down to 300 rpm and hesitation when accelerating. issues with idle are more promonint when the engin is warmed up. -
Hello,
I changed my o2 sensor this helped the missing and hesitation problem, RUNS great UNTIL. Now after turning off the engine and restarting it is back to the same problem??? 2003 2.5 outback sport

Blizzak ice and snow tires 2003 outback sport. I live in snow 5 months out of the year they are great!

I would vote for A/F ratio sensor. if its not dead, its very weak at this milage.
BTW, what is diagnostics AOK?[OK as in good no problems they could find? I found the link to the haynes article on how to clean and test the TPS. It cannot be displayed must be a pay or registration needed sight?

does it do this when cold or all the time?
I live in Montana so I really do not know it has been cold since it started? Also some days it will run for awhile then act up? My novice impression is it needs either more or air. It sounds muffled. I first thought water or fuel line freezeup. Isopropyl helps some. Two oil changes ago I noticed the oil filler cap barely on it was not tightened all the way by the mechanic. I will never pay for an oil change again!! Is it possible an o2 sensor or throttle problem? My wife has mentioned it backfiring also. Help

Cold. Also somedays it runs fine for an hour then it starts.

First off let me reiterate you guys are great! 2003 Outback sport 103,000 miles. My soob is not normal... It wants to die when taking off unless rpm's are ever soooo slowly applied??? If I gas it it bogs and losses power.Mechanic says diagnostics AOK? Sometimes isopropyl helps and sometimes not? I replaced plugs fuel filter anti freeze and oil recently.

I have blizzak tires that for a month or so lowered my mpg. It is back to normal after that. The Blizzak's are awesome in snow.

I am trying to change spark plugs in my 2003 outback sport 2.5L 4cyl. What is up with the rubber plug on the end of them? And how do I go about removing the plugs? Sorry for my ignorance.
problem ordering imprezza outback sport parts??
in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...

Is it just me or does anyone else have the problem of suppliers from subaru to aftermarket places being able to distinguish "2003 imprezza outback sport 2.54". I often even after reiterating the model receive the wrong problem... so... is it possible to order the tensioner roller alone or do we have to buy the tensioner with roller attached for timing belt change??
