  3. Prev posted: Hello all, My wife and I are gearing up to do some desert camping in the next few weeks here. I've been out to the Maze District in the Canyonlands before (we took a Jeep). Not that we're considering anything too crazy, but I'm just trying to get a handle on what we might be able to tackle to get to a trailhead. The ranger just laughed when I asked him about taking a forester out there. Anyone have any luck out and about the desert backroads in a stock forester? We're kind of at a loss of ideas for an extended backpacking trip out there since the Needles filled up and our vehicle may be less than adequate for getting us to the good stuff. I've done the death march through a wasteland for days just to get to the cool stuff - given our time limit we'd prefer to not have to do that. Any suggestions are welcome!
