  1. Hmmm, thanx for the quick reply... There is ONE tiny possibility of a failed gasket, I remember seeing a spec on the gasket that looked like a hole, just a pinprick kind of thing... but maybe.. and we had a problem with getting it on the second time... umm Me and HTi - Johnson are gunna be looking at it again tomorrow I think... Thanx for the ideas.
  2. Or is there a way to fix a head? I'm doubting that alot right now..
  3. DAMNIT... I can buy new heads right? what kind of price range am I looking at? by the way, what was up with the forum bein down? is that a normal thing? hmm
  4. Leak coming from the head cover, freshly resealed with gasket and sealer.. Anyone got any ideas?
  5. oh my god does that help! lol... I pulled off the wrong thing.. damnit!!! that took me like 40 mins to get off in the rain ... :'( lol.. ok well at least i know where that thing is.. okie dokie..
  6. ok.. i took off the driverside timing cover.. but i need a little more help.. i am kinda new with cars... flywheel? i thought that was in the tranny? ok so after i find the dot and point it to the top then wat?
  7. ok so... I moved the rotor in the distributor and tried it a couple times.. prolly four or so... and nothing happened it sounded like it was about to start once then it didn't..
  8. wow... you really know your stuff! lol... i'll add you on aim right now..
  9. that would be way cool... how far away is coburn? anyways.. i'll do wat i can with it tomorrow... i have to fix my hood release.. *sigh*.. it broke yesterday... lol...I'll try a couple different spots and see what i come up with then i'll get back to you guys!
  10. I see.. i will have to see about that timing light... I know i have the cap and all the wires right... i got the firing order down about 4 months ago when i started having problems with it... I will check out the distributer tomorrow the second i can... because i created a new problem... I went out to my car and (since it doesn't have an interior hood release, its jimmy rigged...) i pulled it at the front of my car, and it broke off.. lol.. so i have to fix that. I will try probly 5-6 different positions for the distributor.. i really hope that is the problem.. that would make my month!!! thanx for the help so far guys, more info would still be useful!
  11. i see... so is there a way to tell which way it should be in? or no? I hope there is... When and where is the wcss
  12. 180 hmm? i can try that.. i have taken it out once.. maybe thats it! how do i know though if its on right? or can I tell...
  13. ok, so after checking the spark, i replaced the spark plugs just to be safe... anyways... umm now when it is turned over it is backfiring i think, its shooting fuel up into the air intake housing... so i don't really know where to go from that... if anyone has any info it would be great, cause i know you are all subaru gods in here.. lol
  14. There is spark from each spark plug... so thats a good thing...
  15. Now that I think about it, I just realised that I haven't checked to see if it is getting spark, so I'll be doing that in about 20 mins.. Thanx fangster, I didn't know that... I'm kinda new with this work on cars thing, but i am MORE than willing to do whatever it takes! And finally, i know it has fuel and air, i will see about the spark in a min... what happened last time it ran was that I was in trouble with my parents... and so i forced it home, while it was overheating.. I also need to make sure that i've fixed that, because i found a major hole in a radiator hose, but that might not be all of it... anyways, i got it home, and turned it off, but it never started again.. that was in december... thanx guys..
  16. The rotor turns with the engine still, but I was thinkin that maybe the timing is off? can that happen?
  17. Hey guys, new to the forum, and I got a 92 loyale that i need to get running again. Hope you guys can help me out. It turns over but won't fire. I've replaced the distributer and the rotor. I've got the distributer firing order right, but now i can't figure out what is up. Thanx
