Thats promising!!
My trans number is
TZ1A42FDBA from a NZ new 01 Outback with an EJ25 SOHC
and the only trans I can find in NZ to replace it (as most are JDM import) is a TZ1A4ZFCBA from an 01 Outback/Lancaster Jap import (that I think had an EJ25 DOHC)
So by the look of it, it is actually an earlier one
Any info would be great if I can swap them!
Many thanks in advance
James
i would feel more comfortable answering this if i had the full trans ID# and car year, model, engine info.
because as soon as i say yes, someone will find a situation where it is not true.
yes, if the rest of the trans ID# is EXACTLY the same then a newer one will work fine in an older car.
what are the ID numbers?

sorry to bring back such an old thread!!
a quick question if anybody knows the answer..
if the part number of two trans are exactly the same apart from the 8th diget (version).. can a later one replace an earlier on?
ie, can a 'D' replace a 'C'?
many thanks in advance

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone would have any technical drawings or cad files of a standard Ring gear and Pinion shaft for a 5 speed (4 or 8 bolt) gearbox from around the '92 or 99 vintage.
Many thanks in advance

Hi All
Would anyone know if the bolt pattern on the EA81/82 flywheel is the same as the bolt pattern on the EJ series engine flywheel?
Many thanks in advance,
James
