I dont mind projects, and i dont mind the FWD, thats what im used to.... but whats the biggest or best motor for this thing... and what kinda numbers am i lookin at (cost, HP, lb-ft)? and does this thing have a lot of aftermarket support?

Well, i havent even seen the car yet.... i know its only FWD, and its only got 110 HP....really really dissappointing, i dont even know if i wanna buy it anymore, plus the fact that its an automatic...... so what kinda engine swaps can i do, and whats a round-a-bout price for a tranny swap?

So im looking to buy a 1995 Subaru Impreza.. 140,000 miles, auto, a/c, and i dunno what else for $1700 from a guy i work with... i was wondering what i need to look for when i go look at it, and what kinda problems these cars have...i only have about $2K, so im not looking for a fixer upper... also, what is the potential in these cars including engine swaps... i also would like to swap the tranny for a standard (i get bored, and by meaning bored, i mean i like to double foot it ). Any info would be greatly appreciated, as i know nothing about Subarus, but a hole helluva lot about Hondas THANX A BUNCH!
