  1. I had the same problem with my 1998 Forester. I tried searching the web and I can't find the exact page that pointed to the fix, but if memory serves correctly, there is a part number for the correct wheel bearing out of Subaru Canada. This part is a different bearing type than the stock Forester bearing. Hey -- found a link: http://www.endwrench.com/current/Current6/03/WhBearRep.pdfhttp://www.endwrench.com/current/Current6/03/WhBearRep.pdf I would recommend printing this out and bringing it in to your auto mechanic shop as they might not even be aware of the correct fix. I went through two wheel bearing jobs (the first one only lasted 7,000 miles!!) before getting the right fix. Hope this helps. Chris
