  1. Try this link: http://www.motorage.com/motorage/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=16170 jb
  2. William: Do you have spark? If so, can you hear the fuel pump clicking as it pumps when you first turn the key on? jb
  3. NorthWet: No, they just tell me that they do not want to do the job. Could be not worth the set-up with 3 throws and 4 mains, lack of experience with this model or they are just plain busy. Called grinder/welders in Wichita and KC area, all with the same story. Might try to find a link on 1mm undersize rod brgs and have a go with the mains at .25mm under (which will clean-up OK and I have a set of the .25mm crank bearings so the rods are all I need.) There is a generous undercut radius on either side of the rod bearing area and maybe this is the spooky thing for these crank rebuilders when the undersize drops below .25mm...but I doubt it...Most grinders I have met over the years can dress a stone to handle this and .039" (1mm) under should not be a deal breaker with 4 mains to support the small journal diameters. Puzzled in Kansas...... need more information! jb
  4. Thanks kingbobdole, but most of the junkyard Justys around here suffer from the dreaded oil pump shaft failure and are locked up or have already given their engines away to someone...will press on however, the chase is part of the challenge of the rebuild! Anyone had good luck with a Justy oriented parts house? jb
  5. Thanks Ross! Just an FYI, I received an email response from http://www.ccrengines.com that jeffast123 had suggested: "JB, Thank you for your inquiry. I'm sorry, but we do not rebuild Justy engines. Emily Johnston Colorado Component Rebuilders, Inc. ccrinc@aol.com (303) 293-9230" :-\ Back to square one now............... jb
  6. jeffast123: Thanks for the lead, emailed the contact but have not heard back yet jb
  7. Houdy folks! Daughter's oil pump failed on her 88 Justy and ate the #1 rod journal and scored the rest. I cannot find anyone locally (Kansas) who wants to weld and grind the crank. Damage is outside of normal undersize bearings and the local parts house wants 250.00 for a rebuilt crank. Does anyone know of a reputable shop that specializes in these 3 throw cranks? Is there something scary about weld and grind on these that none of my crank grinders want to touch it? Thanks in advance for any and all help. jb
