  1. yeah, i've got a bit of rust on mine too. my scissor jack pushed through when i was changing my pass side rear tire once. just forces one to get a bit more creative with jack points, especially if you need to get under the thing (which i try to avoid at all costs.) al
  2. i run that exact size on my 83 DL 4wd wagon. they work, but if you turn hard they rub inside the wheel wells. GLs are supposed to run a little higher so it might not be any problem for you if that's what you're driving. al

  4. 1983 DL wagon. the odo says 109k, but, according to the paperwork i have, it stopped turning over ten years ago. previous owner (and myself) used it as a daily driver, estimate 10k or so a year so 209k or so. still runs great.
  5. well, i just thought i'd introduce myself (being new to the group and all). i just sold my pu truck (1995 toyo tacoma) and bought a soobi. if you haven't looked at my name, the ak is for alaska. the rig i bought has an odo that stopped at 109k (the cold screws things up here), but it probably has about 240k or so on it. i bought it for $600 which is kindof a steal here. 4wd subarus definately command a premium in the land of the eight months of winter. anyway, this little yellow rusty thing with a boxer runs better than it really should ever run. i'm a fan. if it makes it through winter i'll be an even bigger fan. cheers, alfred
  6. thanks for the help. sorry for my ignorance alfred
  7. Just bought my first subaru and it's a 1983 DL station wagon, 4WD. The driver's side front CV is totally shot and i need to replace it. What size socket do i need to get that big bolt off (the one you can see with the wheel on). I realize that this is a common problem and i apologize if this is answered somewhere else but i couldn't find the answer anywhere. TIA Alfred ftajk@removetomailuaf.edu
