  1. is there a way to disable AWD when not needed? would this help fuel mileage?
  2. anybody know a source to get a used liftback for a '92 legacy? i have a rust problem. this is a awd wagon.
  3. thanks for your input. actually, it sits quite a bit higher in the back right now, enough so that i am going to have to re-aim headlights. is that a common reaction?
  4. i bought the front struts off a '97 outback springs and all, but the rear struts were used with my springs but they are outback struts.
  5. going too far refers to the tires might not fit the car.
  6. i just got my outback struts on my '92 legacy. it had 24" tires stock. i just ordered 4 kelly magna grip tires that are about 27". does anyone know if i went too far? i'm having second thoughts. thanks.

what year outback struts did you use? i have a '92 legacy and not sure what year struts to look for.
  8. i have a '01 l.l.bean outback with a 3.0. gets 23 mpg around town every week and has great power. your supposed to run premium gas, however, so consider the extra fuel cost. good luck.
  9. i done it all myself. just the rear ones. now if i replace all 4 with outback struts, i got 2 brand new ones to sell for the rear of a '92 legacy. anybody looking?
  10. i got them at napa for 160.00 a pair. said napa on the box. i guess the tire rack is pretty reasonable for struts. did i read somewhere that if i switch to outback struts they must use outback specs for alignment? is this a fact? might be good to know.
  11. thank you for taking the time. i wish i had asked earlier, i just put brand new struts on the rear of my legacy. maybe e-bay. thanks again.
  12. anybody know what year OUTBACK struts will fit on a 1992 legacy awd wagon? looking for more clearance. THANKS!
  13. yes, i know what you mean. i was saying you can't swap struts if thet didn't make outbacks in '92 or '93 because someone said you could do that. like you, i'm trying to find out WHAT YEAR OUTBACK STRUTS WILL FIT A 1992 LEGACY! HOLY CRAP! IT MUST BE A REALLY STUPID QUESTION BECAUSE NOBODY KNOWS!
  14. have you found out anything? i don't think they made outbacks in '92 or '93 so how do you swap for same year as someone suggested? i can't believe some one doesn't know!
  15. i have a '92 legacy and would like to know what year outback struts will fit and how much lift they will give. anyone?

can anyone give me a web address for getting a lift for a 1992 legacy? i don't go off-roading much, but the thing is so low it's a pain just getting in and out of it. tires now are 185/70/14 and i was thinking about 205/75/14 but don't know if they will fit. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
