  1. Back in the day when I was a Mitsubishi tech, they used to reman automatics. I got sick of swinging trannies multiple times in the same car. They'd probably be good for a parts source. I'll tell my Mitsu buddies about the Getrag connection for 3GTs. Thanks.
  2. It might even wash your socks! Seriously, it is way faster than the SSM II but it's a real PITA to deal with. Full day class at SNE also. Luckily I don't have to worry about borrowing it as I work for Subaru. If you need to blast out CELs, any of the cheapies will probably work. I used the SSM III to troubleshoot an 05 Impreza that had a mechanical overrev and tagged an exhaust valve.
  3. SSM III is more like $15K, I saw the check. That thing will sing, dance and tell jokes!
  4. Because the manual transmissions have a viscous coupler, the automatics have a transfer clutch which is operated by the powertrain control module.
  5. 1.) PB Blaster is your friend. 2.) Forester rear wheel bearings are very sensitive to installation. If you press them in, there is a very good chance they won't last 500 miles. The dealer has a suitcase full of Kent Moore goodness to do this job. This job can be done on the car for about 2 hrs labor. Both sides.
  6. I did one on a Baja YESTERDAY! 32mm nut which you will have to unstake. The familiar roll pin on the tranny end.Take the bolts out of the other end of the control arm (where they bolt to the chassis) 45 min tops.
