  1. Hi Skip thanks for the responce as you know, it gets frustrating when everything you do ends in oil everywere! I will take some photos of installation today and send to help understand. The oil pump is part of the engine. Regards Paul P.S. have hopfuly sent this to you as PM also.
  2. Hi Skip, Yeh its a bit of a poser for me too! Header Tank, feads oil pump. Sump feads oil cooler. Oil cooler feads header tank. New pistons, valves, springs, guides and re-bore. Blows seals!!!! Paul
  3. 10/40 oil now. Pressure regulater checked. Blows the seal out???
  4. FSM= Me Dumb! Thanks. Ref 20/50, at tick over only 4bar, and not got to operating temp yet because of pressure. Paul
  5. 20/50 oil. Bypass... OK ill look at that this weekend, thanks. Sorry........ whats FSM? Paul
  6. Thanks for the tip and I have been assured that they were lined up. any more Ideas please!
  7. Hi Guys I said I would report back. Ram supplied new pistons valves seats springs etc, and the engine was re bored and assembled. It sounds very sweet now………..But……………… the oil pressure is off the clock!! On tick over it reads 4 Bar, but as soon as you rev it the pressure goes to 10 Bar and starts to leak oil from the crank seal. Any Info would be great as now I am desperate!!!! Regards Paul
  8. Just thought I would let you know have purchased re-build kit from Ram Engines and will post results as soon as. Paul

  11. Hi, Does anyone Know where I can get new pistons Etc. for a EA81 engine please? Regards Paul
  12. Took it to be sripped todayand I will let you know what is found! Paul
  13. Had a good long look at the engine today and when looking inside through the spark plug holes there was a visible amount of oil in the chambers after it had been run? Paul
  14. I dont know either BS, but its worth a look. I think I will take the heads off first and have them checked and if its not in the head at least Ive started the strip down. Thanks Paul
  15. Thanks guys, The engine was standing (well preserved for 12 months) and I replaced the seals before fitting and constantly check for leaks= none. The oil is held in a tank and pulled into the sump.It vents into the top of the oil tank and there is a overflow tank that then vents to the outside. The residue underneath is a black smoky oily film all over the fibreglass undersideof the aircraft. As I have said there is no visible smoke apart from first rev from tickover and then it is just a puff of smoke, and the plugs are dry and good colour. Yes I agree the oil consumption tells me something is wrong and I think It is approaching a strip down. I have spoken to Ron at Ram engines and he can supply pistons and rings to fit so I really am stuck as to what to do at present? Paul
