  1. I need to replace the lower coolant hose coming out of the turbo. I had only heard of this hose before today as it is almost impossible to see, but it has blown as it has never been replaced. Anyone know the best method of accessing and replacing this hose?, Best type of hose to use? Thanks to all.:-\ KRMusher
  2. How and where did you inject the silicone grease? I have an 87 GL-10 turbo auto with the air suspension system. I replaced the rear with 91 Loyale shocks. Only one side went out but it killed the whole thing. I tried patching the bag and even put in tire slime thru the air input, but the rip just go too bad to do anything with. Been happily driving on those with the front still on air, but now the front is going out on the opposite corner from the bad rear. Did more tire slime but the hole is getting too bad to use. Will swap to front loyale struts unless a better option is encountered. I do a little off road withich really beats the air bags, running 185/80/13 tires.:-\
  3. Extensive web searching, including this board, gave me no hope for my air supension problems on my 87 GL-10 Turbo auto. My Haynes manual was next to useless and any shops I talked to had no clue. The only advice I could get was to change to non-air coil overs etc. Happened to stop into a library which had a Chilton's 85-96 Subie manual and EUREKA: A great explanation of the SELF DIAGNOSING AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM. When the height light blinks it means something is wrong (duh!) and you should put it in diagnosis mode to read the error code from the height light! Codes cover the height sensors, (each strut) air solenoids to each air strut, and compressor parts. Separate instructions are given for simple testing of the control unit. In my case no codes displayed: must mean all components are ok.... so why the leaking down and sitting on the axle for the rear struts? Not sure but since no codes went to end of procedure to RESET the control unit by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for more than 10 seconds. The suspension is now working quite well and the high position goes very well with the 185/80/13 tires that are massive compared to the stock 185/70/13 tires. It takes some turbo and minor power mods to handle those tires to still get EPA mileage with some less torque but better high end (3 spd auto) Regards KRMusher
  4. Rear end air bag struts (both) fall over night BUT: last night I put on the raise height switch and they didn't fall! What's going on here?? If I have to replace can you change one end only (rear) over to just springs, as in some posts, or do you need struts? Or do you have to change all 4 if you are converting to non air set up? Any info appreciated!! Only has 84k miles! KRMusher
