  1. thanks guys. i think...no..i'm sure i'm gonna jump to this adventure and become an ea82 owner. i thought that even if the trans will die,i can replace it with manual one.about 120 $.(not including pedals, clutch etc.) i'd like to "suffer" like you guys. i'm about to buy:1986 SUBARU LEONE(LOYALE) GL STATION WAGON 1.8L (EA-82) 2WD A/T METALLIC BROWN. i'll buy it next week. promise to post pics. david.
  2. parts are available since we have a lot of soobs around here...parts are average in price....but is it hard to work on this engine.i never had an experience with soob before..i'm a citroen mechanic. if it is not so recomended i will stay with my current car.EA71. please help me to decide.should i go for the adventure or not. p.s: the car i'm about to buy is auto tranny 2wd 1.8 ea-82 the trans feel smooth on all shifts the engine is healthy. what do you say guys? should i become an ea82 owner?
  3. i dont care about the equipment...i ask if it is better to exchange my 1.6 (ea-71) subaru with a 1986 ea82 subaru station wagon with auto gear.
  4. hi guys...i just bought my sub 1.6 gl 1988.but...i'm about to sell it...i found what i realy wanted...subaru leone 1.8 GL 1986 wagon (not 4X4). do i make a mistake by selling my car and buying the other or is it a good exchanging? what do i gain by that? it is good for me,because i love wagons... i don't want to do a mistake..is it a good car as the 1.6?
  5. i would suggest you to check for belt tension...if you still have it.when it tears, there is no load on the engine...the rpm goes up...the electricity..down.
  6. thank you all guys 4 the warm reception. before i purchased the 1.6 i saw an EA-82 subaru 1986 with carb. i took it to a local subaru garage (a friend of mine) and he told me that there are 2 engine types the ea-81 and ea-82.he said that the ea-82 came with cambelts and hidraulic lifters.but...he told me that this engine makes a problem some times with the oil pump and then the lifters will make noise (something about the pump sucking air). so i didn't buy the car.he said the 1.6 are the reliable ones. did i make a mistake not buying the car? hey....that's my first question.
