  1. Problem solved. It turned out to be a bad wire housing causing fuses to blow. Thanks again for the help!
  2. Don't worry - I didn't get it he first time I saw it either!
  3. DD = Dear Daughter (or Demon Daughter, depending on her mood) DH = Dear husband
  4. ok, took the car to have the battery and alternator tested - both are fine. any other ideas?
  5. OK, just heard from hubby. He got it out of park and into drive. CEL and ABS light both still on. Going to bring it to auto zone to get battery and alternator tested. Thanks again!!
  6. Thanks for your quick response! I searched for other threads on this and found reference to the manual override. My DH is on his way back to the car to see if he can get it out of park. Thanks again!
  7. My DD called me today from the school parking lot stranded by her 2000 Subaru Outback (again - 2nd time in 2 weeks)). This time it starts and runs fine, but the check engine light and the ABS light are both on and it won't go into Drive. Well, more accurately, it won't come out of park. Shift lever will not move at all. Oh, and the power windows wont work either. It was a-ok this morning when she left for school. My DH went and checked it out and can't figure it out. Checked fuses and all appear to be OK. It is extremely cold outside today (single digits) - could something just be frozen?
