  1. ok: Oil was changed about 1500mi ago.... capped off repeatedly b/c of the leak until it was fixed. Used 5w30 dyno oil. No unusual noises I have noticed, but it has only happened since it has gotten relatively warm, but even on a day that was about 40-50 deg F. The engine has about 120k on it. The Tbelt and oil pump were done about 40k ago. I am not running heavy loads at all on the car, I am mostly doing highway driving at about 75mph for 3.5 hrs.
  2. hey all... I have a question. I have a 95 legacy L and when I come to idle speed (750 rpm-ish) during a long drive (80 miles+) the oil light flickers or comes on. If I am closer to 1000 rpm, the light stays off. The oil level is slightly overfilled (after a leak, the mechanic fixed the leak and overfilled the engine with oil) thanks in advance Nick
  3. Hey again everyone... I need a couple of hints here! My clutch is engaging really high (I talked about it in a previous thread) and I notice it only when I watch the tach (it drops and catches between about 250rpm intermittently under power). How do I adjust the height of a clutch on these wagons? (It is a 2.2L AWD) second... The cruise control won't engage... the switch on the dash lights up http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/images/smilies/GRIN.GIF but it won't hold a speed. I checked the "cruise" fuse and it is intact. Any other ideas? How do I begin to troubleshoot this? third... The cig lighter doesn't work I need to plug in my radar detector and phone SOMEWHERE Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot it? Thanks in advance N

  5. welp... there is no ABS module in the car niiice! Anyone have any luck with a how-to on the clutch? ALSO... does anyone know how hard it is to do a strut replacement? (front and rear) N
  6. 2. General reseal? meaning replace all the seals?? (Head gasket?) It looks like the Differential cover is this round cap with two holes that extend off of it (this is on the firewall side of the passenger side of the engine... under the air intake tube). The two bolts (13mm?) screw through the cap and into the engine. The upper one of those bolt holes in the engine has been stripped. 4. The car is supposed to have ABS. It doesn't work at all... (is what I mean). I put it on ice and slammed the brakes down... I just slid with no pulsations or what I would consider the normal noises associated with ABS. 5. Where IS the cable adjustment How would I know if it needed a clutch? 6. I already threw in a bottle of techron. No change.
  7. Hey all, I just picked up a 95 legacy L with 178k on the body. The engine has 80k on it and the timing belt/water pump has just been changed. HOWEVER... there are a number of issues I need help/advice on, since this is my first subie. 1. at low speeds, it brakes well. At highway speeds, the steering wheel shakes like crazy! I feel no pedal pulsations at all at low speed. 2. There are a few sporatic oil leaks. One is at the rear differential seal and when I checked the bolts, the upper (socket into the engine) is stripped. 3. Cruise won't engage (fuses are fine). 4. The VIN SAYS it has ABS... but it doesn't fire at all. 5. The clutch friction point is WAYYY high... (about 2 inches from the top of travel...) 6. Gas gauge is either full... or empty (I read a fix somewhere around here I am going to try...) and finally... 6. Minor electronics stuff in the cabin (light behind the time liquid crystal display is out, the cig lighter doesn't work [and I need that to plug in my phone/radar detector] and the lights behind the climate control unit are out.) HELP!!!
