Hi....my 1990 loyale is idling really high on starting...but settles down once it warms up....also if it is cold sometimes it doesnt start at all....i have been looking thru the threads and checked the ce light under the dash...it blinks 5 times....can someone please help....oh, i also just had a new timing belt put on last week...and the battery, distributor cap and ignition coil are all new.... thanks lisa also...i have just read about using the connectors under the steering wheel to check the correct codes...I had not done this previously...that's why it's blinking 5 because i did not connect any of the plugs.....but now i do not see a green one to connect....can someone please give me more info on how to check the ce light....I have spent more money on mechanics and parts than i did for the car....I am out of work right now because of back surgery and have limited funds....help

Hi....I need help with my 1990 subaru loyale....just had the timing belt replaced....but now the car idles high on start up (2500 rpms) and stays that way for about 15 min....then once driving it is fine....also sometimes wont start at all especially when cold outside....the guy who put on the timing belt has no clue what to do next.....I have been reading thru the posts....and checked ce code under dash....light blinks 5 times....help....I am spending more on mechanics than i paid for the car:mad: thanks Lisa
