my 92, loyale made so much engine noise it was driving me nuts so i sold it. it was really hard to sell in the new orleans area. most folks around here ain,t got a clue what,s a subaru. finally sold it to a person from colorado. parts and service was a big problem around here.i didn,t have confidence in the local subaru authorized dealer. anyway i want to thank all you guys for the advice. you sure got a great site !!!! if i ever move to subaru country i,ll buy another in a jiffy. but for now i,m just rollin in my old smoking corolla.......thanks again.........................................

anyone know of a subaru mechanic within 300 miles of new orleans. most mechanics around here think subaru is made on mars.

recently bought super clean 5 speed,92,loyale w/ 100,000 miles. it makes alot of noise when i start it .sounds like an old diesel. sounds like the noise is coming from front of engine below a/c comp. could it be water pump? soon i,m gonna try flushing engine twice with oil/atf 50/50/ mixture as advised by one of the usmb guys. anyone else remember this happening. thanks for any advice. and thanks for a great message board!!! james
