  1. I know the wagons, with 5 speeds, in the L trim level, could be had with the 2.2, at least into 2001...... Not sure about after that???? All the sedans that I have seen of this vintage were 2.5's. Regards, Steve
  2. Thanks guys, you were correct about the linkage.....it appears to have been hit by something????? I have no idea what it was, but the linkage was bent so far over that it was scraping the underbody of the car???? Got it mostly fixed..... but a little more bending will be needed to get it into park.....just don't want to break the linkage. Thanks again guys. Regards, Steve
  3. Hey guys, I have been a lurker here for a while now and generally, I am able to find answers to my questions by using the search function....unfortunately I haven't been able to find any info on my latest problem. When I got home yesterday it seemed to take more "pressure" to get my '90 Legacy sedan into park, I went out this morning and the car wouldn't start....it took me a few minutes to figure out the shift light in the dash still read the car was in Drive (though the actual shifter is all the way forward "Park") the shifter will not budge. The car was in need of some band adjustment as it was shifting from 2nd to 4th and then down shifting into 3rd before hitting 4th gear again.....any suggestions, before I start ripping into this thing..I am guessing it is a linkage problem. I bought the car about 3 months ago.....I recently changed the tranny filter and fluids, the old fluid and filter looked good (the guy I bought it from, told me he had changed it about 15,000 miles ago).....the car had sat for about 6 months before I bought it. Funny thing is about a week after I bought it I took it on a 2500 mile round trip to Florida with out a problem. Thank you in advance for any and alll input, regards, Steve
