  1. replaced a stock coil that had never been replaced now the car acts like it has a dead batt. we replaced it and still no power, no door chime nothing. everything is hooked up properly.

how many wires on coil, its seems that I have extras. xt motor in gl, with gl harness but you never know.

  2. I just want more fun from the car. my dad and I tear up some of the local dirt roads at least once a month and I want awd so I dont have to worry about frying the rear diff in 4wd. Basically I am trying to make this car as fun to drive as possible. I know about the ea82ts weak points (or have read enough post about that end in ej22 post) and honestly dont care because the car is my dd when I finish the motor replacement. I just want a little bit more.

So how do I go about getting awd?

  3. ^I think you get and understand my point. You actually continued to explain it. The people that think he hopped in bed with Ford, and bailed out on all the sweetness Subaru alegedly "gave" him are greatly mistaken.

Block is a self made star, and as you said about his drive to become better; that is his motivation. It's not like he's making millions on the transfer from Subaru to Ford. Those that think this is a money thing are greatly mistaken. The guy wants to race, and the fact that he started off by putting himself in a car he bought, and training so hard show that that's all he really cares about. Not so much the money. If he were after money; he'd probably just join Nascar....

I agree with everything and before you put me in the catagory of uninformed, i know he owned dc shoes and sold it regardless he still reps it hard. The point I was trying to make is this, he has already advertised dc shoes in his subaru he is obviously a talented driver regardless of wrc expieriance YOU would THINK subaru would be chomping at the bit to get this guy a seat. Thats all i was saying.

on a side note how do you think pastran is going to do without a role model to up his game?

edit: sidenote why do you think mr.block decked his scoob out in subaru clothes if he wasnt gunning for a seat with subaru? he could have just left that out and done whatever with the car graphically? I mean we all know its a subaru..

  4. I am about to finish my ea82t engine replacement and am looking for some fun stuff to do. I really would like to know if its possible to swap to awd in the gl-10 its an 86. I also have plans to swap in an intercooler and maybe a td04 should the car run well after I finish the replacement. anyway thanks ahead of time guys!

  5. WTF was a drunk doing in your backyard for twelve hours?

was my best friend long story short that bridge is burned and he got the worst of it. I spent like 12 hours out at my gmas (where me and the car have to meet) swapping accessories and ************, I woulda had the car done if he hadnt have been there. but yes hopefully the end of this week will be productive.

  6. got the old parts car ea82t in the car and I will say this some of the accessories and other small details are very different from gl to xt.

I had to swap accessories because the motors were v-belt and serp.

I spent 12 hours arguing with a drunk about motor angles and wasted friday trying to fight him and a motor to get it done. ended up kickin his rump roast in the back yard.

went out and got the motor 70-80% in with pops last night early this morning. now I have to go back out friday and finish wiring and swap the injector pig tails becuase the xt one is short than the gl pig tail. almost done!

  7. I guess but you would think all the advertising he does for dc and plus the events that he would be making decent cash. WRC is great but I think if maybe he would have pressured subaru he could have made it.

I am happy for him but I would rather he was driving my brand. He's very talented and I just hope ford treats him right.

  8. that suburban story is hiliarious, Its funny how people drive these big huge lumbering suvs and expect them to be tanks. What kind of american wouldnt want a crap ton of power AND fuel economy. doesnt work that way and corners were cut. Look at the history of the vortec name. Than compare that to a nice little engines series entitle the LS. I am sorry but when it comes to cars your always going to have the stiff going on a witch hunt. Its ridiculous I drobve a 91 camaro with a high output motor that I put close to a g into and I have more fun in my lil scoob. WHATEVER! Its like the saying "dont like your job ************ing quit"

  9. KYB also makes the "stock" OEM shock in may Subaru models. I have installed KYBs in the rear of my Brat and they work excellently.

When I bought our '91 Legacy many years ago, the previous owner gave me all the paperwork on the maintenance he had done on it. He had installed KYB GR2 gas shocks on all four wheels at 73K miles on the car. I bought the car at 93K miles. I ran those shocks without problems until I replaced them last year at 196K miles!! The rears were pretty well shot, but the fronts still had some gas left. Needless to say, I replaced them with KYBs. I wouldn't install anything else IMHO. A high quality shock at a more than reasonable price.

Call me ignorant but I think kybs are our only option aside from oe. But i am not sure just sounded funny. ignorance is bliss FTW:headbang:
