Ok so i found this subaru wagon today. 1988 Subaru DL. 88 k. NO rust, zip zero nada. 3 problems. 1 its an auto, 2 its 2wd, 3 there was a small fire in the backseat so that will need replace and the headliner and other interior bits will need cleaned up.
My question is how hard is the 4wd conversion and do you think its worth it.
Hes askin 450 but i thought of offering him 100. Pretty nice looking but it is a dl and non 4wd so its like whats the point ya know.
Any ideas.
Ben
IN this post you say SMALL FIRE 88,000 miles
http://www.wcperformance.com/subaru_jdm_motors.htm
the motor alone is worth it at 300 350 for the whole car
PICS would be nice

My money is worth more then yours because my lack there of.

Ok back to car prices
new cars were not talking about right
used cars is like a good fruit crop
lots of good fruit you sell for less because you have lots to sell
I live in the PNW lots of good rust free used cars 10,000,000 of them
salt states not that many rust free cars... Infact a rust free should be worth more
My friend is form minnesota his mom&dad would fly oneway over twice a year see the Gkids bla bla bla.
drive back in a rust free car and sell it. Pays air fair bla bla bla
In fact car dealers in the salt states buy cars here and have them shipped back and sell'em like hot cakes

he is the seller, he makes the price he wants, don't get bent out of shape because you where turned down or aren't find a "deal"
I agree with Scooby 101%
I read your posthttp://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=102357
the guy wants 450 for a running car low miles sounds like a good deal to me.
You spit in the mans face by offering 20 cents on the dollar
is your money worth more than mine

The filter in the engine bay is really a "vapor seperator" although it does have a filter element as well - the one that actually traps debris is the one before the pump back near the tank. How does that one look?
GD
EA81 book (hayes manual) says my wagon only has one (under hood) later today ill be lookin at the tank area.

this all started after the hill climb
well I dont think it the weber I think its you fuel supply.
reason Why It happened to me also , Instead just change the filter and blow out the lines
I hit a bump knocked some crud loose pluged the filter it was a new filter maybe 2500 miles
just my 2 cents

my old 90 loyale that I sold to my neighbor ( I only had it for a short time and all night driving so i never seen it ) well anyways he works at boeing and when he takes this certain right curve on the way to work (freeway offramp) the car smokes like a old steam freight train once in a while NOT ALLWAYS.
So I did some lookin on this site a I found some imfo that some ea82's smoke going around long curves right or left I cant remember.
I also found out subaru redid the PVC system to stop that smoke.
But I could be wrong.
So apparently it happens once In a while

I've tried that. A couple times. Usually for the exact reason your thinking about. To track down a vibration or a whine. I can tell you that it never worked for me. It seems that the whole dynamics of the drive train changes without the load. So,the noise and vibe's dissapear.
In the end,in my situation,it was a u joint on one occasion and a rear wheel bearing on another. I say don't waste your time doing that.
X2 that never works you need the wait of the viehicle
Alright what could it be....
in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
