Ok here goes
Look here
http://picasaweb.google.com/Busrsq/MySubaruRX11
and You will see my new exhaust and muffler and it also has a LOUD quiet button on dash that operates a butterfly in the exhaust to make it quieter and has more back pressure(only use it in cities),
Also the short shifter I took out of my Rally spec car has clearance issues so I will need to rethink it.
Next will be a custom intake I am building then Intercooler,Then MORE BBBOOOSSSSTTTT heheheeh then scare WRX's.
I also have 2 spare engines one of which is fully forged internals...

Ya vo-taxs = some other poor guys problem now. So glad to be gone of it.
At the moment its got giant manifold exhaust leak so makes no boost, the hill holder is pouring brake fluid, chewing coolant, +330-000km worth of wear and tear.
RX is much more sophisticated:rolleyes:
Yeah and now I have it and it all good with a new clutch and Exhaust and soon to be new intake pics are here

Man That is a sweet ride I got both my '87 coupes of Trade me as well
Shame you in the south island would love to see it
Anyways heres another wee place that us old school Subaru owners hang out and it based in NZ
-
Ok guys heres a question for you,I have a MINT 87 FWD leone/Omega coupe body and instead of putting the RX running gear in it,I also have an almost complete 93 impreza running gear(less engine some prick stole it outta my shed) do we know if the impreza bits will bolt into the coupe (gonna get a 2" lift at the same time)

I was looking at mounting the pump to the crossmember under the radiator just to one side of centre (engine bay side). Maybe i'll take the guard off and remove the compressor for the air susp and put it there......
I still have to find some more hose to run the WAIC. I have the legacy stuff but its all the wrong lengths and shapes. Anyone got any idea on where to get that kinda hose? I was thinking I could use hydraulic high temp hose if it was a good price and available in the right internal diameter/length.
I am going to run 14mm copper pipe for the long runs and then rubber heater hose for joiners,it will look purty....
-
Well in the Legacy the water pump is mounted inside the passenger guard...right where I do believe the airpump is located.
Yup that is where it is on a Legacy,I to have just brought a WAIC for my RX 11 and have every thing I need except time and some stainless pipes was thinking of putting pump under bonnet in front of air cleaner

The stockies on my leone
The 14" that are going to go on once they are painted(black)
And another set of 13's that will be painted black and be run as dirt rims
-
How come as soon as a it engages my car turns to the left extremely hard? Do I just need an alignment? Also, when I press the button to turn it off it wont go back in 2wd until I hit like 15-20mph and it makes that terrible explosion under my feet. Why?
As has been mentioned it probably is tires, and it not just the same size tires either they all have to be from the same manufacturer a 185/70 13 from dunlop will be different than a 185/70 13 from goodyear
also when disconnecting try blipping the throttle

Sold it to a guy in Levin for $1000 or there abouts. Wasn't completely satisfied with him but anyway, live and learn.
No new engine that I knew of, I was second owner and brought it after the first owner died...
I had been told it had some sort of reconditioning done on the engine, not a full rebuild as far as I know though. I found receipts for ~$700 of brake work.
Fairly well serviced all of its life with the previous owner and while I had it. I put new timing belts on it.
I don't really need tooo much for my cars at the mo. Only one I'm trying hard to keep on the road is the my '81 brumby, My little project, the rest are beyond saving. It needs CV's (repco are so F#@'in useless) and a few other little things. Still WOF'd and REGo'd though. Always on the look out for Gen 1's near me. Apprentice wages aren't the best tho. Also looking for some tasteful accessories (alloys- hint hint- rofl).
Anyway, anything you needa know just ask me and I'll see if I can help ya. Kinda getting off track here.
Yeah I hear you about the alloys i should be able to help cause I found another set yesterday that makes 3 sets of 13 and one set of 14,
I should have CV's here that will fit I have some from a FWD will they fit also got later models front and back.
email me at busrsq@gmail.com
Oh and wot apprenticeship you doing

Here's one on TRADEME in NZ
and a nice Leone rally car
-
everyone in the states will say to go with the 14"... primarily because we don't have those over here and they're "r33t"...
the stock H-alloys are everywhere, so you won't get as many looks with those...
the multispokes are also nice, but they're only 13's... with the 14's you can run a lower profile tire and improve handling...
--Spiffy
Which is why the 14's are probably going on for most of the time,Maybe put some Snow and Ice tires on the 13's for when I need the extr traction

1988 GL Wagon 5 speed 4x4 1800 OHC non turbo.
I had a switch that controlled the wire coming from the "position" fuse a red wire with white stripe. I never figured out what it was for. Someone suggested the car won't run without a fuse in that slot so the it must be by passed somewhere. Can anyone tell me what it is actually for?
Thanks.
will have a look in my hand book but could it simply be for the marker lights which are called position lights in some countries;)
-
I sold that in May..
You like the boost gayge?
How much you sell it for,did you sell it to Levin, it pretty good nick and lastly did you put new engine in it,oh and do you have a left rear light cluster, and the boost guage is all good,I am in the process of fitting a BOV and a controller, and a set of 14" alloys,do you need any bits for any of your cars,I got various cars and bits here(ea81 engine in good nick)
-
Yeah I have pics of it I dont really need any RX coupe panels as it is pretty straight was just toying with the idea pictures are at http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/Busrsq/MySubaruRX11
These are as I picked it up last weekend TRADEME special
will post pics as I do things to it

XT and XT6 share driveline pick-up point compatibility with rx/gl/gl loyale range xt6 front end is different to allow the er27, but everything suspension and drivline related will bolt between the cars, even the er27 with some 'adjustments'...
Body wise that is where it stops..don't think a single piece of xt sheetmetal will bolt and function on a gl/dl/rx/loyale/leone/L-series
Sweet as I do know where there is a XT thats been rolled might go and remove some panels and try them on my parts car just to see
-
BUT the chassis are identical in as far as mechanically. IIRC all EA82 series share chassis components. EXCEPT the XT6. The 6 shares more with the later Legs & Imps, though the basic suspension architecture is still EA82. I'd think your RX would share more body parts with the Loyale, or GL/DL sedans.
This I already know I will have to source a front end of a XT and see if they bolt on, I mean the bolt on bits like guards, bonnet(hood for those of u from the US) and lights and grill.
-
Hi y'all
Well after lookin at some side pics of both Rx coupes and the XT coupe if you remove the bolt on front ends and the rear panels is the rest the same(thinking of finding the bolt on bits for my RX)
-
Hi all long time no post, well after a long search I have finally found a Leone/Omega RX that I am happy with,It is a 1987 Leone RX11 Coupe and other than a dodgy clutch and a wee bit of rust it is in good nick, which is lucky because my other coupe is full of rust..
Cheers DJ
I don't suffer from insanity,I enjoy every moment of it

I dont really think he has that much interest in running it in sand, he lives no where near sand. and another part of running the second gear box is to use the front hubs so they can be turned. and how about runnig a different tyre size to negate the gear ratio. not really that complicated just mathematicly challenging and heaps and heaps of engineering:clap:
Yup thats the plan and "engineering" isnt really that challenging as that is my trade, the difference in the 4th gear gear ratio over or below 1:1 will not be a problem as it will not be driven very far on sealed roads it will be towed to and from the "fUN" places.which makes me think a manual gear train would be better so I can tow it behind the cruiser on an A Frame...
more to think about...
-
Like the man says, 4th gear isnt 1:1 ratio.
lada niva transfer case in there.
Its just the looks
Yeah I know 4th aint quite 1:1 but it close enuff for wot I want to do..
Funny you should mention a Lada that is another of my many project vehicles(needs a clutch at the moment) and your exactly right about the looks I am guessing that it will go pretty good off road but it is gonna LOOK like it will go anywhere and that is just as important as it actually going anywhere...
