  1. It's a chronic issues with these cars. My gauge is showing 3/4 after about 80 miles and i get about 360 or so to a tank of 87 gas. When the gauge is between 1/2 and 1/4 mark, that's when about 1/2 tank was used up. I guess the variance is slightly different from car to car.
  2. I got exactly the same thing happening to my 97Legacy. When going from a stop, the engine coughs for a sec and as RPMs go up, it's back in business. My knock sensor died some months ago so that was replaced. I replaced spark plugs, air/fuel filters and 02 sensor but nothing helped. When i disconnected the battery a few months ago and cleared the ECU, i think that was went away for almost a week but then the hesitation and rough shift from 1st to 2nd came back too. Oh well, will have to live with it. Quick question: How does one use a timing light? do i have to have the timing cover off to get the reading? Thanx
  3. I had the P0400 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Malfunction ECL. The shop cleaned the tubing and the EGR valve and so far, 4 months later, no ECL. Never had any other ones.
  4. I replace mine on a 97 Legacy. Took me around an hour because the bolts on the shield on the exhaust pipe were rusted and welded to the shield because of the heat. I had to cut them off to remove the heat shield. I replaced the front O2 sensor. It seems that the rear sensor should not take more than 1/2 hour. Once that was off, it took me around 20 mins to uncrew the O2 sensor, put another one in and put everything back together. So far, no CEL!
