i just got a 83 gl 10 last night for 200.00, it has its issuse, over heated ea81 till the head gasket blew. this car has all the bells and options. the insterment cluster is totally alien, every thing is digital. also it had les swabbies put on it the day it died, this monday!...about 60 miles on them, i got the reciept for 191.00, those are going on my 86 hatch today. anyway, if you have any comments on this model, i would love them. and i need drivers side doors and front fender, will pick up, silver would be outstanding................thanks call ken @ 503.735.1583 in portland or.

no pressure in loyale....no history on car. there is a minor change when cold but goes to zero in ten mi......is it terminal?

the little boy runs perfect, it went right though deq....sometimes i have to look at the tach to know it's still running. my maintance has been to replace the clutch cable. it was stretched. I put brakes all around. still running on same tires, most likely will make it through camping season my biggist fear was when it got warmer....the temp gauge went to 3/4......so i bought a 2 core radiator....and now things are so coooooool !!!!!even when the tmp is 95' going up the pass! Lynn has ran him for for over 3000 mi. and not whined. i call it the little boy, it has the dual /4 spd. my girl freind could not live with the 3 spd.auto trans and 1 range. and thats why she calls it a girl

have needed motor long enough, low oil press., steaming milkshake, milkshake oozing out of top front of motor. greasy clothes. i would like to find i ea81 in the portland or. area. will pay well for a good one. thanks. call ken@503.735.1583

steam from the exhaust and a milkshake in the crankcase, loss of water. pulled nearly 2 gal. from plug. 2 wet plugs on rt. side.

the book said to pull the pins.. ko. pry the joint off the diff. ok. slip outer joint off axle. wont budge. also wont go back onto the diff. spline. it seems the little beastie is whoopin me. im greasin my keyboard an running out of time and day light thanks floortom

ive pulled the pin on the outer cv, but it wont move off the axle. used med. wackage with small sledg. im afaid im gonna bung it up!

i want to replace wheel bearing and ive got the inner joint off the diff., but the outter one wont come off. book says simply slip off axle. help! yes ive got the pin out. thanks floor tom

i bought a 83 gl and sometimes it has smoking fits. did it when it first started then the next time it simply went away. round the block afew times and nothing.yet this morning on its second run,it started again. when it does it, its raw thick clouds. any thoughts? thanks, ken

After 2 honks and a hand jestier, it cleared out, just got it sight un seen for $300. Sold cuz the car had no spark. Thanks to this site, i put a meter on the coil and found that there was no volts during cranking position. One wire to the coil and it started...oh crap....it smoked so bad it fogged the street . After a harsh deq. moment, it cleared out. After cooling it did it again. Havent pulled a plug, or done comp. check . Please tell me it's a head or gasket...cracked ring or piston would kill me As always, thanks to all the members on this site. floortom

bought a 83 gl wn........looked soooo good i couldnt pass it up. when i grounded the coil, to the frame and cranked it...nothing.....until the last rev......let off the starter......one spark.....new ig.? dont know what disty....only ic.

fuel line came off, engine caught fire, most every plastic part under hood is toast. 84 brat/ 86 parts car, 3 motors, extra carbs, alts., starters, misc. parts jump seats. good int., cv joints, 2 trans., have all parts to repair, but not the will, in compleat discust. car on dolly today, must go. woman unit cried for hours. located in n. portland call ken @ 503.735.1583 or cell 503.209.5396.. email floortom420@msn.com $ 500 obo. thanks

what i've done is, taken the block out of a 84 brat. is has a bad rod. i put a unk. yr. block in with the stock heads from the 84 brat. do i want the brat/case cam or the crank cuz its better? floortom

can someone tell me the diff in the hp in the ea 81? some came with the brat (non turbo) that sport more stock horses...what is the change? cam...valves...crank angle? thanks floortom
