Greetings all........ a few questions on a 98 impreza L 2.2 , 98,000 mi 1. ( gates. com ) site that sells timing belts says that model year is a non interference engine. I thought I read on here that it was. Comments? 2. Any help on instructions to replace the instrament bulbs behind the gas and temp gauges? I wanna see my gas guage in the dark. I know ive seen great help on legacy heating and cooling gauges on here, with pics and all. 3. My inside trunk release handle ( the one with the icon on the floor broke ) Any good sites to find a replacement handle? Thanks for all the comments!!!

Hello..........looking at a 2001 forester with a 2.5 automatic. I see blowing bubbles in the coolant resevoir tank. Does anyone know what models and year that the headgasket problem becomes an external leak as opposed to the earlier internal one? The dealer wants 6,900. for it. It has 86,000 miles and all ther bells and whistles ( heated seats, moonroof). Thanks for your replies, Rob

Hello All My son has a 98 impreza L , needs a parking light cover for the passanger side only. (not turn signal but the parking bulb area) He broke the cover in a minor fender bender. Any chance anyone has a junk impreza and will sell me the part? Any help is appreciated, Thank you Rob:rolleyes:

the heads where done and sent out to a machine shop, thw work was done about a year ago, it has done this about 4 times now.....os soon as it smokes, it seems to go right away before i can stop and open it up..... yes its power steering fluid... thanks to all that replied with ideas Rob

hello all...have a 98 legacy outback limited with 187,000 miles. 2.5 engine with new head gaskets, new radiator, new fluids, new timing belt, new thermostat. started smoking (white smoke) from under hood , about 15 minutes after start up. Cleared up just as fast. Looked under hood....no coolant leaks, temp gauge is normal , found power steering fluid all over top of block. Could this fluid cause pufs of white smoke for short periods? Any thoughts all you subby guys and girls? Much thanx

must be more of you out there that have had exhaust work done? after all............subies last so long.........any more stories or prices on exhuast work? ps.............just called meinike........they quoted over 600.00:-\

hi all..................1998 legacy outback with 186,000 miles. just got a quote for exhaust work..............390.00 for everything back from the converter. sound about right? its from my local mechanic.

Hi all..........my son just purchased a 98 impreza L 4 door sedan. came home last night and found out the gas gauge and temp gauge dont light up. Any leads to how or where to find out how to get to the bulbs and replace them? Any help will be much appreciated,,,,its his first car. Thank You.............
