noooooo idea what that is or where to hook it up too.
-
sweet! Now what about the wiring? How will i go about doing that?
-
thanks alot haha
-
I will pretty much be paying $100 an inch of lift.
-
Yeah i saw that lol. But i just want to make sure they are put together well.
-
How well are these kits put together? I have a deal going through where i get lifts at a discounted price. And i was woulndering how they do.
-
the driveshaft from the d/r car should work. IIRC, the wheelbase is the same on the XT and the other EA82 cars. All EA82 cars are the same wheelbase.
well this is out of a carburated car is there any difference?
-
Im planning on putting a dual range in my xt the trans is comming out of a 87 gl coupe. I was woundering if i would need to make a custom driveshaft or will one of the two work? my aut xt one or the one out of the gl?
-
Well i dont wanna be like "oh theres a trail lets go put my axle in so we can go" i wanna be able to just go.
-
You can drive it if the rear is welded, yeah you will notice a difference but it is still driveable and its very common to do on a subaru that you do plan on wheeling with
yeah im gonna look into it
-
well i want to be able to actually drive it so i dont want to weld it
-
If this is gonna get lifted 6 inches and het monster tires, LSD won't do you much good off road. You'll want to just weld the rear diff.
Do let us know what you figure out about that front part.
Im not planning on welding the rear dif im gonna get a 3.90 posi
-
LSD is what i was thinking of lol yeah im gonna do the 3.90 posi rear at least.
-
Sweet, when you figure it out let us know. There are a ton of veteran Subaru off-roaders here who have been wheelin, lifting, and modifying these cars for years and are still trying to figure out a way to lock the front diff.
You can weld it, just hope you dont plan on turning left or right anymore
Yeah i dont know exactly but i was told there is a way, if i find anything out ill let you know.
-
Would love to see how you plan on putting a "posi" in the front.
Will definatly look cool lifted though!
well i know 2 subaru mechanics and i was told you can weld the front or something about the svx front dif. idk but theres a way of doing it i was told
-
I plan to run it around this weekend so ill get more pics of it in action.
-
Well i picked it up for $300 running on 2 cylinders it was the crappy wiring subaru did witch corroded under the passanger seat.
And i had it on a little hill
And in a hole wich i almost got stuck in (darn not posi)
NOW ILL TELL YOU MY PLANS
swap doors and fender with my good ones
dual range 5-speed- own
possable engine swap
Lift- homemade or bought 6+ inches
rims and tires
posi front and rear
GIVE ME MORE IDEAS!!!

No one answered my question. How much will those 2wd xt rear struts lift my car? and how much do the front ajustable struts lift it?
-
how did you lift it?
-
I was told that you might be able to change the top mount on the impreza strut with the ea82 one and it will work. what will happen if it does work?
-
+1 I had my 86 XT on 14 inch pugs for awhile and with the air suspension on high it looked SWEET!!!!! Plus the larger tires fill in the wheel wells nicely!! Try that 1st and go from there if you need more. You'll be happy you did. Frank
yeah mabye ill try that
-
I had a EA81 once that had an aftermarket pump that was mounted under the hood. It never had any trouble, but they are designed to push fuel, not suck fuel... so the closer to the tank the better.
yeah i might make a skidplate for it
-
Sort of true, the front 2WD XT struts are the shortest subaru made but the rear 2WD struts are the longest subaru makes
On the 2WD the struts mount where on the 4WD the axle is, but has the same ride height. mount a 2wd rear strut on a 4wd subie and lift-off! .
So those struts will lift my car how much?
-
How did you That?
form offroad than it could handle lol
d/r in a xt?
in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
