Does the 2.2 have an idler pulley or is that only on the 2.5?

Hi guys, Wife's 07 impreza 2.5L 5 speed (15000 miles) has a noise sounds like a squeaky belt but not sure if it might be the power steering pump. Of course the dealership says that it sounds "fine." Just wondering if anyone else has this noise on the newer Subaru and also wondering if they fixed the head gasket problem on the newer 2.5L?

Hi Guys, My 92 legacy 2.2L (207000 miles original owner) has been flashing the idiot battery light and the parking brake light accompanied by a loss of electrical power. Seems to be random when it occurs almost like a bad ground (alternator will kick off and lights will dim, 30 sec to a minute later it will kick back on and lights will return to full power). I have checked all the wires and they are tight, also had my local Subaru master check the wires and connections which he agreed are tight. Thinking that it is the alternator (more specific the voltage regulator in the alternator). Tried replacing with a used alternator and the problem is ongoing. Would you suggest a new alternator and belt and if so what brand? Thanks
