  1. Funny you should say that, Manitowoc that is. I moved here a couple years ago to join the Burger Boat crew and my wife loves it here, well all but the 30 plus below 0 temps. I own a 2000 Forester that just threw a timing belt last night, at leat I think its a timing belt. If you need help getting to know the city or anything else I would be happy to help
  2. thank you, would the car sound funny when turning over like there is no pressure left?
  3. I own a 2000 forester, I have had several 02 sensors installed, a catalyst converter, altenator and belt, and usual tune up stuff and oh yeah, both rear wheel bearings and the first one replaced 3 years ago is now sounding like a jet taking off again. I enjoyed my forester and have 207,000 miles on it but last night I think I threw a timing belt and may have torn up the valves, hopefully I will find out tomorrow when the weather is not 30 below 0
  4. I think I threw a belt while driving about 25 mph last night, what are the chances my valves are still good and does the car turn over kind of fast and sound funny when the belt goes?
  5. I have 207,000 miles on it, I thought the dealer put a timing belt on it when I purchased it around 93,000 miles but I may be wrong. We were driving about 25 mph when it went, what are the chances I ruined it? Thank you for your reply, Rick
  6. Hello, I am new here and looking for info on a 2000 forester timing belt, can anyone give me info please? thank you
  7. Hello, I am new to this page and out of deperation decided to start here. My Forester has 207000 miles on it and driving down the road at about 25 suddenly made a winding sound and nothing. I have worked on several fords, jeeps, and chevy's in my day but only have done few things with my subaru since I bought it 4 years ago. for the first year every 3 months we replaced the o2 censor on bank 2 until it was finaly resolved, about 80,000 miles ago a dealer in Grand Rapids MI tried to tell me the head gasket was blown and gave me a quote of a couple grand to fix to which I told him to do the warranty work on the o2 censor and give it back. Well needless to say I never touched or had any problems with the head gasket, do you think they were trying to bend me over? Now after the car quit it turns over and sounds very funny, just like my jeep when it jumped time, with the jeep I kept turning it over relentlessly and for some strange reason it started and corrected the problem but I do not want to try this with my forester because I paid more than 500.00 for it and My wife needs it to take my son to school, can anyone please tell me if this sounds like a timing belt and if so is there a person close to Manitowoc, WI I can trust to do it for me?
