  1. thanks guy and I agree all your comments sound like the forester is a great mini suv.
  2. thanks guys, the forester that im looking at has 78,000 miles on it and it is listed for $8000 and this would be a big jump up from my 88' gl wagon. so I am excited but not for the payments, if i get it. any other things about the car ?
  3. Im looking at getting a 2000 forester. does everyone love it or hate it? Do they have constant problems like rear wheel bearings? please tell me anything you know about your forester
  4. I have an 88 gl wagon with the tall skinny dimmer on the left of the steering colum. well it went out and i know that it isnt the fuse and i replaced it with one from my parts subie and it shorted in a day. does anyone have one or know how to fix my broken one. thanks kevin PS my brother just got a 90 loyal and he loves it to death push button 4x4 but i still have the D/R 5 so its fair
  5. hey guys and gals I changed my oil today and I bought what I thought was 10w30 oil, but after I changed my oil and went for a short drive I looked at the empty oil bottles and saw that I had bought 10w40 oil. The engine seems to run fine but will it work all right? or should I change it right away or at a sooner interval? any oil advice would be great! thanks kevin
  6. I just finished putting my 87 ea82 in my 88 gl non turbo the swap has gone well and i am really close to being done. all i need to figure out now is the timing. the 87 that i just put in was carbed so i switched the distributer and the intake to all of my fuel injected stuff. when i started the motor after i just installed it ran then when i went to check the timing the timing marks didn't even show up. i have tried cranking the motor over to 20 degrees then pulling the distributer and turning it to fire on #1 but then it just wouldnt start al all. please help
  7. thanks guys that doesnt sound too bad. ill post if i have any problems
  8. I am planning on swapping my tired 88 efi ea82 with my engine from my 87 carbed ea82 because of head gasket and pcv issues. would it be better to use my efi set up on my the carbed engine or use the carberator. I know that the efi gets more power and more efficency and i wouldnt need to switch the wiring harnes or the computer. there seems like there is alot of vacume hoses to figure out. please post anything you can think of about the swap.
  9. hey subaru guys I'm rebuilding an ea82 and the head gaskets really need to be replaced. i just wanted to know where the best/ cheapest place to get them is? thanks kevin
  10. nice thinking on that livewire and i will check the fuses today
  11. thanks and I will read the FAQ and stop posting utill then sorry to waste all of your time
  12. well i got pulled over for the first time today and it was for my damn tail lights. I dont know where they have come unconnected but they dont work they work when i hit the brakes and when i put my parking break on but when im just driving with my lights on the lights dont work. My dash lights dont work and I havent been able to figure this out. the closest that ive come is to link it to the dimmer switch on my dash. I've pulled the switch and looked at the hook up but i couldnt figure out what was wrong. this probably caused my break lights not to work and I want to fix them but i dont know where
  13. wow those look really sweet, and i think that drilling the hubs is a better idea and I will probably be just wheeling the wagon once I lift it. I have 3 gl wagons now 86, 87, and an 88
  14. thanks for the link ill have to find some 14" wheels
