hey guys and gals I changed my oil today and I bought what I thought was 10w30 oil, but after I changed my oil and went for a short drive I looked at the empty oil bottles and saw that I had bought 10w40 oil. The engine seems to run fine but will it work all right? or should I change it right away or at a sooner interval? any oil advice would be great! thanks kevin

I just finished putting my 87 ea82 in my 88 gl non turbo the swap has gone well and i am really close to being done. all i need to figure out now is the timing. the 87 that i just put in was carbed so i switched the distributer and the intake to all of my fuel injected stuff. when i started the motor after i just installed it ran then when i went to check the timing the timing marks didn't even show up. i have tried cranking the motor over to 20 degrees then pulling the distributer and turning it to fire on #1 but then it just wouldnt start al all. please help

I am planning on swapping my tired 88 efi ea82 with my engine from my 87 carbed ea82 because of head gasket and pcv issues. would it be better to use my efi set up on my the carbed engine or use the carberator. I know that the efi gets more power and more efficency and i wouldnt need to switch the wiring harnes or the computer. there seems like there is alot of vacume hoses to figure out. please post anything you can think of about the swap.

well i got pulled over for the first time today and it was for my damn tail lights. I dont know where they have come unconnected but they dont work they work when i hit the brakes and when i put my parking break on but when im just driving with my lights on the lights dont work. My dash lights dont work and I havent been able to figure this out. the closest that ive come is to link it to the dimmer switch on my dash. I've pulled the switch and looked at the hook up but i couldnt figure out what was wrong. this probably caused my break lights not to work and I want to fix them but i dont know where

wow those look really sweet, and i think that drilling the hubs is a better idea and I will probably be just wheeling the wagon once I lift it. I have 3 gl wagons now 86, 87, and an 88
-
thanks for the link ill have to find some 14" wheels

my 88 gl fuel injected sube has a problem with its fuel mix i just changed my plug wires and checked my distributer. the exaust smells like gas, so i think that the fuel mix is too rich. i also noticed a loss in power and some missinging in the 3k to 4k rpm range. it may be the fuel pressure regualtor? i dont know if anyone can give me some advice please post it thanks
-
sorry about calling my sub a lemon but my dad told me that mine should run with no problems for another 50k sorry for being ignorant
-
thanks for that tip and sorry i didnt give hardly any info at all about my sube its a 87' gl with EA82 engine and 218k on it the car really feels like a lemon i havent even put 3k on it but i have replaced the radiator, clutch, tires, and many more. i hope that i can get it back in good running order and thanks for all your posts

my subaru just started making a lauder grumble yesterday and it became very sluggish. i checked the timing (perfect) checked intake fine. i just cant diagnose the problem, it happened right after i got gas i dont know if that is related

has anyone ever had problems with their o2 sensors, because i am going to buy this 88' gl-10 turo. The owner says that it has a bad o2 sensor and it causes it to burn off fuel when it starts and spew a bit of black smoke. is that a problem with the o2 sensor? is $300 a good deal for the gl-10 with 178k and an auto tranny? post any thoughts please

beastbikes replied to pixogen's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
just wandering, how many miles did you get on you AT before it crapped out? thanks kevin -
Does anyone have a 88 gl 10 with an automatic tranny. i have the chance to get a gl 10 for $300 with only minor problems. if anyone has had good or bad luck with automatic trannys or if the turbos have problems? please post anything that you know
