  1. Don't cut any axles A good cv shop should be able to match the outer cvs to the ej brakes Look on some other forums too
  2. Hi all I've been doing lots of reading on 5 lug conversions. I have some understanding of what is needed. I have most of what I need but there is one measurement that would help Can anyone tell me the distance from the outer face of an XT6 hub to the outer face of the backing plate (EJ) when the axle nut is tight and backing plate is fixed. Or from the hub outer face to the mounting position for the backing plate on the trailing arm. If the way i described makes no sense please ask. I did spend some time at a wreckers some distance away but after I got home i found my calipers, nice old set with dial.. were not working ... the dial was slipping randomly. Thank
  3. " Re: My Swap. EA82 5sd DR Trans into BRAT done.

Let me know if you have any questions about the swap. Think I have about 5000 miles on since I put in the 5 speed and no problems. Only trade off is gaining about 150rpm on the freeway, my mileage didnt change on way or the other."

hi thanks for all your info

i am dissapointed that the engine revs higher after the five speed conversion i was keen to see if fuel consumption would be improved and i thought the revs would go down. Ahh..well.

Thanks again for your excellent posts
