I meant to fix the problem, I'd stop shifting at redline, and call it good. I'm not judging you, I just don't find it absolutely necessary to shift a 90hp engine at 6 grand, when there is little to be gained by doing so.

Why would shift an 87 GL at redline, or 5500 for that matter?

Just skimmed my way through this thread... and it's awesome. Amazing work, it's nice to see this car in the hands of someone who will bring it back to its former glory. Can't wait to see it finished!

Hey guys, I've been lingering around for a while, but decided to give a formal hello!! This is my 1991 Loyale 4WD Wagon. This is my fifth subaru (previous subies... 1982 GL 4wd Wagon, 1987 GL hatch 4wd, 1992 Loyale 4wd Wagon x2). It's dirty, dented, mildly rusty, and has 267k miles but it runs awesome! Just wanted to say hi, it's got a few gremlins so dont be suprised if you hear from me in the tech forums
