  5. thanks for comments guys, got te arches of ebay uk, listed under 80's style aftermarket arches, they suit it perfectly, its going to get a full respray shortly, and a mapping session, was thinking the cooler is a bit over the top, was thinking smaller cooler and replace bumper would look more subtle, the suspension was a nightmare , nothing fitted at all but was determined to get it built , im pleased how its turned out , and it gets some weird looks, people just dont know what it is, think im going to v8 one of my other pickups next ,
  6. group picture of my growing scooby collection
  7. not been on for ages guys but brat is pretty much finished , took 3 months solid work building it , has full wrx running gear engine ,box power steering brakes etc and it goes like a rocket lol, got apexi ecu , td05 turbo 2.5 inch straight through exhaust , oz racing alloys 18 inch, 3 inch arch extensions and a terrible matt back paint job but hey ho will sort it out when i take it of the road in winter anyway some build pictures the start dent removal front wrx subframe and struts fitted
  8. my 3 new members to my brat clan wrx pickup my ive been abused by a farmer brat lol my i dont have a heart brat (engineless)
  9. not posted in ages, well i now have 7 brats in my collection , 4 of them on the road , and one with an ej20 turbo lump , going to do the ej20 impreza running gear swap next week , looks like a major job some pictures the idea for this brat is a 1/4 mile car so much work to do still, ej running gear and power steering is going to be alot of work
  10. can see now ej is way to go, so fiting the turbo version would be as easy as the non turbo? and where can you get the adapted plates for the gearbox or is it just as easy fiting the ej gearbox and getting a prop manufactured up? thanks for help guys really appreciate it
  11. a right , mmm bad idea then, take it the ej22 is the impreza engine , is it a big job putting one in a brat? or has it been done without much trouble, cutting and welding isnt a problem for me , just setting out the geometry of it is a bit worrying
  12. lol, thought you got them as old as 95, mine is one of the last in the uk, have got an 88 94 and a 95 now , and a 85 and 84 for spares its getting silly now
  13. as above i have 1995 brat and got chance of an xt turbo , does the engine fit straight in and does it fit the brat gearbox? want to keep brat gearbox so its manual, thanks in advance allan
  14. hey will, the two tone one is factory blue and the red is crysler crossfire red, know what you mean it does suit it somehow, both pickups are pretty solid , the cream one is the best by far , thats the one thats been in the family since new, 20 years now, undersealing it every couple off years has helped, two tone one is solid now, spent two days sorting the arches out, going to start fabrication in two weeks time when i pick up scooby turbo wagon, think its going to be a hard convertion but looking forward to the challenge and end result
  15. there vauxhall frontera carfreak, has the 6 stud convertion, they look pretty good on the brat:banana:
  16. sorted both pickups out today, took pics because this is last time there going to look like this, cream pickup is getting wheels hubs and exhaust off the two tone pickup, two tone one is getting wagon wrx running gear engine etc, and will be slammed with 17 inch 5 spoke alloys (deap dish)
  17. lol is funny we call them subaru pickups or 284's, before joining never knew the were called brats:grin:
  18. well this is the start off my build thread, wanted to mot pickup before started transformation, so need to sort out rust on underside, both rear arches were holed and 18 inch hole on drivers inner wing to floor, so 2 days off plating and welding, and pickup went through mot so ready for road, going to use it for month or so before transplant inner sill to floor hole and again plated and undersealed and inner arch repair lots to do still, got a 98 wagon wrx do ready for conversion, will be about month before start , easy way is to cut rear floor and suspension out off wagon to put into pickup, same with front bulkhead suspension mounts etc, will update as it goes along
  19. thanks for kind offer subyrally, were having same problems over here with recession etc, the only worry i have is rear suspension, making sure the geometry is correct for sti suspension, ie welding strut turrets in right position:)
  20. hey bud, na im just above carlisle about 30 miles, aberdeen is 4 hours from me, definately going lowered with split rims with new one, keep original one original ,even got original stereo, will be selling wheels suspension etc soon if any uk owners are interested
  21. not sure what you mean bud, with the front valance, just bumper removed thats it, yip sits way to high will look alot better lowered, just searching about for a crashed sti now, like my old scooby will keep this one for good so want to make it a minter
