  1. I just wanted to let you know, that I bought the Subaru that I had my eye on. ( the one with the noisy lifters) I did a oil chang, (20-50) and a 1\2 quart of Power punch. and set off to Oklahoma! I had no problems other than a loose battery cable! Thank you for all the fine information that y'all gave me!! I got close to 31mpg the whole time with 45lbs. oil pressure. No noisy lifters! It did use some oil, but that is normal for the 200,000 miles on it.

Well now I have another Subaru a 1989 Loale, but it has a oil leak , it looks like a seal around the front left axle, never working on one, how much trouble to pull this apart and replace the seal? It leaks right on to the exhaust pipe. that is why the guy gave it to me, his mechainic told him it would cost more to fix than the car is worth, I know better, it only has 125,000 miles on it. and a one owner in great shape!

    any suggestions!

    Thankyou guys!!!

  2. Well that's good to know! I will be leaving Ellensburg to Tulsa and back. It seems to quiet down after it gets warmed up. I haven't bought the car yet, but it is really clean and 4wd 5 spd.

2 extra sets of tires, mounted, for $900. It sounds like a good deal,

Any comments, sugestions, words of wisdom? I thank you for taking the time and helping me,

How far do they go with them like that? I plan on keeping it for a while, but is it safe for a long trip?
