  1. I lent my car to a friend. He burnt the clutch out. gone. no more adjustment. The pressure plate and bearing and such are all newish. 15,000 miles. i could just replace the friction disc don't you think? its only $80 more the whole kit. do you think its worth it?
  2. i just did this. I used 98 outback struts, springs and top hats. the fronts bolted rite in. same top hat as the legacy. I used some camber bolts on the bottom whole of the struts (front) to get good camber. The rears don't bolt rite up. I took a 3/8 drill bit and drilled a whole on the out side of the original top hat hole. The out back top hats have a wider hole pattern. Its just tin and really easy to drill. I then used 3/8 fender washers to back up the nut. I used camber bolts on the rear too. I didn't change the rear arm and I don't think I need to the wheel looks quite centered. This took about 4 hours. I did it rite in the drive way. Hardest part was un bolting the struts. I like the lift a lot. I really is a big change of stance and driving. I put bigger tires on too . My old struts had 250,000 on them and totaly blown up. the first out back, 95/96, struts aren't any different than the legacy no lift.
  3. today the light came on and said i have a bad starter switch. interesting...
  4. o2 sensor.. I drove 194 miles on a little over a half tank. wierd that the check engine light didn't let me know.
  5. well i got a check engine light that came and went I had a loose connection on my cpc solenoid. so i tightened that up and replaced the o2 sensor, I had one laying around. i didn't think about the tire size difference. I went to http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html and used there calculator. I can add 7.5% to my crap mileage. so that's up to 12 ish. i will have to run another tank through and see. I am going up the pass on Monday. We will see. I just did a tune up, in anticipation of a winter of rallying up the pass. I will have to check the brakes next. thanks very much for the help.
  6. hi i recently put outback stuts and bigger tires on my 92 legacy. I am getting 11 mpg combined mileage. that is not ok. I get 19 in my dodge diesel. do you think the blizzaks would effect it that much. my hope was a little more ground clearance, sometimes I beat the plows going up to stevens pass. The trip costs $20 now. Any suggestions? It drives realy nicely with the lift and tires. I thought power would be an issue. But its not. Any thing would be helpfull.

  10. Hi This is Jerry, i build a 5 speed kit to fit in the EA81 cars. Scott from Bellingham is the guy that builds the EJ to EA adaptures. If it was me i would use the EJ 5 speed for the street but for off road then the 5 speed dual range tranny. Thanks Jerry
