  1. The timing belt was changed about three months before the oil pump went. About how much time should I expect this taking? Any manual better than the others? What about salvaging a used oil pump? Thanks
  2. Hey guys. I've posted numerous times about my bad oil pump. Now I am thinking about replacing it myself. I was wondering if you guys could provide me with any insight. Where exactly is it located? Special tools and concerns.
  3. Well, the mechanic that looked at it was pretty sure it was the oil pump, I didn't hear any wierd noises, so I don't really know. The car is about 8 hours away from me right now. So..... Thanks for your help though. crawford
  4. In January, I lost oil pressure in my 93 Loyale. I drove it to the gas station and to the shop and back. I figure I went about 10-12 miles with no pressure, bu the engine didn't seize, and it still had some power, although not all. I am wondering if I should try to get a new oil pump or if I should try to get a new engine for the car. Or the worst option, sell it. Can anybody help me? Thanks crawford
  5. So how can I tell if it is the sender that is out? How much is that to replace or repair? Thanks Crawford
  6. I started the car up one morning and the oil pressure indicator light came on. It normally does this, but usually it goes off once the engine is warm. This time it didn't. I made it to the gas station and then to the shop and home from the shop after they looked at it and told me of the grim situation.
  7. I have a 93 Loyale 2wd, auto. Anyway, in January the oil pump went out on me. I was wondering how much engine damage could have occured in the 10 or so miles that I drove it to and from the garage. Is it worth replacing the oil pump, or the engine or the entire car? Thanks
