well the parts store chains dont sell the pulley now do they? and that was the part i was wanting and i though he was offering to me. because I COULD NOT get the bearign out or off no way no how. pulling the snap ring was the only way. if i ever offered soemone somethign for sale i would follow through by sending a pm as well as a messeage in any forum that i posted about. mature. is responsiblity to follow through. not tease someone now is it. what else is mature is to want to want to reply like that. and make a situation even harder to get anything. by the way forget anyone on here ever helping me agian F that. dont bother repling i will not be back.

well no isuzus at the junkyard either. it was gone. i did try to knock the bearing out and i had no luck. i think i need a press to get it out. that was why i took it apart was to jsut replace the bearing. but i am not sure it will come out now after i had a look at it. but it might. next tiem im at the shop and have tiem i will put it in a press and see what happens.

well i called the dealer for a new one. and i didnt liek the price at all. but i am stuck unless i want to go without air. so i took the bracket off and took the snap ring off the pulley. i tore the cage out fo it. since it was what was jambing the bearings up. i packed heavy grease into the bearing and races. i put it all back together. it turns but makes a slight noise now and then. this rig probably wont last two days. but i did try it. it may work until i get a new pulleys from some place. do yuo think isuzu will have a similar idler pulley on it? a trooper or similar model that looks like a trooper?

93 subby legacy 2.2 with a/c. the belt burned off of it i think. anyway so i replaced the belt today. started the car and let it run. witht he a/c on and off. the a/c belt idler pully wasnt turning. i'm sure that it should. can anyone confirm that it is supposed to turn and i just didnt over tighten the bolt. i took the botl loose and ran it again and the pulley still didnt turn. so if it is suppose to turn it doesn't. i took a bad video and a picture fo the idler.

thank you for clearing that up. i found the outer cable is broken up inside of the door track so it slides around. but that doesnt say why the inner cable is stuck. it mihgt be the outer cable goes through a third cable and that is where it is getting stuck at. i dont know. i will probably junk it unless i can find soemthing local that will work. i doubt it. but you never know what can be robbed from other cars and work.

i havent been ot the city in awhile. and i almost hate to go to the yard up there because of the prices. and i don't know if they will even have something if i drive all the way up there. i know what you mean by mud too. i was at the locla one this morning and it is muddy out there. i almost fell down because of the mud yesterday. let me see if i can fix it today. i don't know. i am thinkign i need to call the dealer and see if they will warranty it or not. i'd rather themfix it if its free. but then they would probably nit pick the rest of my riggings on the car.

no junkyards around here witha compatible seat belt in it. im sure not buying one from the dealer. is there any place i should look at partically to get it unstuck? i think it might be in the top of the door track guide behind the headrest. but it could be its just pulle dout too far and needs rewound to get unstuck?

the drivers side automatic belt retractor isnt working anymore. i was told on another forum the seat belts were warrantied for life. i dont know i believe that but many confirmed it. anyway just in case. what could be the problem? the motro does work. i unhooked the cable from it and the motor works. the gears arent stripped. it is somethign to do with the cable being bound up. when it hapened the cable came out of the track. is this a common problem? i fso where do i look to fix it? Edit: this is a 93 legacy 4 dr.

i have a 93 legacy. the key switch or starter switch has been giving us troubles for a few months. i told my wife to jiggle the key to start it. that worked for awhile. now we have had to remove the steering column cover and press on the back of the switch and turn and jiggle the key to make the switch work. anyway i finally got a new switch. but i cant figure out how to get the old switch out. this is one of the tilt away columns. it may have some of those funky no head screws in it someplace. but i cant see them. do i have to remove the steering wheel to get up on top of the switch from inside the column to remove those screws? i don't want to mess up and set off the air bag. if i cant get this my next approach is going to wire in a push button from the original wiring going ot the old switch.

i got kind of lucky when i tightened mine down. i used the dirt on the adjuster bolt as a rule of where to stop tightneing hte bolt. but a general rule is not to let the belt flex up or down in slack more than (i think ) 1/2 inch more or less. and 1/2 inch is probably too much. -

i have a ford fsm . on cd and it soaks. i looked at some paper ones on ebay but man they were to high for me to think about. as far as this deal it should have been a no brainer. i dont knwo why it was so tight and then after i got it on and started it it was so easy to get off and back on. it was just something stupid i guess. because i couldnt figure out why it did that. but i knew it would do that. just from experience with other cars and trucks. -

i bought one off of ebay and almost got ripped off. good thing paypal stood behind me. no i still dont have one. ebay rip offs. -
im not a subaru expert but i have messed with those kinds of axles and cv joints before. that does kind of look like its been open for soem tiem. but you can also see the fresh oil splatter everwhere. you may be able to just get by with putting the boot back on with soem more grease in the boot. or you may only have to replace the cv joint. the whole axle comes out ofhte trasnmission. and goes through the front spindle. it will have a large nuts and some washers that hold the axle intot he spindle. i would try the grease thing first.

well i just got it on. i already had the ps pump loose. so it might move and give some room. it didnt give any really. so i took the long bolt out of the other side of the alt. and then tapped the alt down with a hammer on the long bolt side. i barely got the belt to go on. then i could nt get long bolt back in of course. so i had my widfe crank the enigne and somethign happened and it became all loose. so my wife is retightening the ps pump back up right now. i will go out and retighten all of the bolts. i do not know why starting it with the bolts loose and belt on made the belt loose to go on but it did. thanks for your guys help on this one. -

yea im pretty sure thats the length. 34 1/2 the adjusting bolt is sittign above the bracket and the alt is sittign on the power steerign pump bracket so its all the way down for sure. i have been tryign since 5 today and this si the only belt in town i have tried all the town has to offer i made five trips to the parts stores all of them. i think the belt is made wrong. is thier soem other sort of secrect i am missing? -
93 legacy nonturbo 2.2l what is with the alternator belt being too small to just slip over all of ht epulley and just tighten the tensioner back down? i got the correct belt supposedly. 345k5 thats the only real number i can remember right now. the box is outside. its a dayton belt. it just wont slip over the last pulley. the alt is restign on the bottom the tensioner bolt is not holding it. no mods have been doen to change the pulleys.
