  1. yes I found the add on remote start. it was made by crimestopper. I disconnected the box and the fuses from it. I also took out the subaru keyless entry thing. i couldn't ever get the keyless entry to work. Its a subaru p/n H7110AS011. anyone know if disconnecting the keyless entry unit will cause any problems when I disconnect the battery i.e. alarm issues where the car won't start. with the items disconnected everything (car starts, doors unlock/lock) still seems to be working right. thanks for the help!!!! .
  2. I picked up a 97 OBW a few months ago. It is starting itself. It only does it when I am away from home. I am thinking this vehicle has remote start installed on it and frequencies from other people's keyless fobs are starting the car. The car has the factory box in it. The one that is zip tied and shoved underneath the driver's side. I'm assuming remote start was setup on this car. I found a site that has the wiring information (or at least the wire colors). If I wanted to disconnect the remote start which one would I disconnect. http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/alarmdetail/1983.html any help is appreciated. Thanks
  3. I just tried it again with the door open, in the run position. Just like car101 says to do. nothing happened, no door lock cycling. I know the button works, cause I disconnected the battery and it squawked at me until I pressed the button in the run position as directed by cars101. any idea how to diagnose if the keyless entry box is working and/or connected properly?
  4. I'm trying to get a keyless entry to work. It has the subaru keyless entry box under the dash secured by zip ties. I tried holding down the programming button but nothing happened. I held it down for like a minute with the door opened and the key in the "on" position. I also verified that there is a 20 amp fuse installed for the keyless entry. Fuse is in good shape. any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks
  5. If the carburetor is bad on the '79 Brat, what am I getting myself into fixing it. How much do they generally cost to buy? I've seen repair kits and also Weber carbs on the 'net. I have never worked on a carburetor in my life. It looks fairly simple, but I don't know. Thanks
