  1. Thanks guys, I'll check with moosens
  2. I just received my carb in the mail and I'm looking for a rebuild kit. The number on the ploat bowl reads DCJ 306-8 and 701 below that. I got one hit from the search feature on the number, it's supposed to be from a 79 Brat. Can anyone Re-confirm this and point me to source for rebuild kits. I found one on ebay listed for an "1980 Subaru", I'm a little wary on squeezing the trigger on the ebay item until I get some feed back on from the Masters of Subaru. P.S thanks again Bill for the quick turn around on the carb, well packaged. Thanks In advance Eric
  3. There is an XT parts car in my area and I wanted to know if the suspension and braking system will retro fit onto my 80 wagon? I'm not finding any parts cars locally and i think I could get these parts really cheap. The search function didn't turn up anything for me so anything you guys could yell me would be a big help.
  4. Thanks guys, I figured if came down to the motor crapping out I would swap it out with a newer generation but wasn't sure if the tranny also needed to match the motor. You all have given me enough info to get going.
  5. I've got an '80 wagon and have been searching old post trying to glean info on pars interchangeability and from what I can tell i should be good if I stick to the 80 to 84 years for body and chassis parts, and engine swaps between 1980 1987. Does this sound right to you guys?
  6. If the rubber has gone flat and adjustment doesn't gain anything you can stack out the gaskets with 3M double sided moulding tape. If you go this route just make sure the rubber and metal are dirt free before applying the tape. I've had to do this on a lot of old cars when I was a body man. Oh yeah, this only works if he rubbers aren't torn.
  7. I'm trying to upload a picture from my hard drive but there is no option for that. Am I missing something?
  8. I picked up 1980 4x4 wagon with the 1600 motor in it. It's been sitting since '93in the weeds. The carb is shot but i got it to run for a second on starting fluid. Ive been lurking the forum for a few months off and on and I have a few questions. I'm just looking for a runner to get around in the snow, I might play around with lifting it up next summer. Is there a bushing kit for these cars available? All the rubber is shot. Basically I'm looking for any input on this series of subaru. Thanks
