  1. While im not a mechanic, i do sell tools as my part time job. We always have mechanics coming in to buy their own tools for working at garages. Most shops only offer air to their mechanics. As for the disposal fees... Im gonna guess its just another way to pad their collective wallets at dealers. Im also not sure but i think most shops have to pay fees and taxes for handling hazardous waste...

  2. I had a noticeable squeal from my rear disc. Turns out one of the pad was jammed and it was worn out. I replaced the rear pads with cheapo wearever silver pads from Advance Auto (they were the only ones available that day). They squealed for about 2000 miles off and on, and they are working fine now with minimal squeal. In short; suggestion would be cheap pads on stock or older rotors...

  3. recently i have heard a pulsating noise from the rear passenger side wheel. Upon closer testing while i was driving i determined the noise was only present under braking. The pulsating became faster at higher speeds, but there is no odd brake pedal feel. Im gonna take the wheel off tomorrow morning to see if i can get a visual on the problem... if anyone has any suggestions or comments about this problem i would love to know

  4. I just recieved this via MSN..

Recall Alert: SUBARU IMPREZA, SUBARU LEGACY, SUBARU OUTBACK

Owner Notification Date: Mar 30, 2004

Number of Units Potentially Affected: 127580

    Component Description: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:CABLES

    NHTSA Campaign Number: 04V128000

Description of Recall Campaign: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THE CRUISE CONTROL CABLE COULD COME OUT OF ITS TRACK ON THE CRUISE CONTROL LEVER AND LODGE ON THE CONTROL LEVER TAB WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS RELEASED. IF THIS CONDITION OCCURS, THE THROTTLE WILL NOT RETURN TO THE IDLE POSITION BUT REMAIN IN AN OPEN POSITION.

IF THIS OCCURS DURING VEHICLE OPERATION, THE DRIVER COULD LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH. DEALERS WILL INSTALL A CRUISE CONTROL CABLE RETAINING CLIP TO THE CRUISE CONTROL LEVER TAB ON THE THROTTLE SHAFT IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE CRUISE CONTROL CABLE FROM COMING OUT OF ITS TRACK. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING APRIL 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT SUBARU AT 18007822783.

  5. This is my first posting! Anyway, i was looking into upgrading my system, when i noticed on the rear deck there are 2 grey plates covering what seems to be places for speakers, you can see them if you pop the trunk and look up at the rear deck from inside the trunk. I guess you would need to know that it is a 01 legacy L sedan. If anyone can help me i would love to know what size speaker fits in those 2 spots.

    Thanks, Andy
