  1. Technicaly the core is covered, but I can see (and reach in and touch) it by looking into the vent opening, and there isn't any doors that ever blocks it off. I'll try to take a few photots tonight. Is there some place on this forum I can post them, or should I just add them in the text of this post?
  2. So I took a peek under the dash, it looks like the doors are cable controlled. All look like they are moving freely. Here's the kicker, I can see the heater core under there. Actually I can touch the heater core from inside the car. No doors ever block off the heater core in any mode. That would mean there would alays be heat down at the floor. Could there be something missing?
  3. Much appreciated!!! Just wanted to try and give you as much info as possible. I haven't poked my head under there yet. I'll try to take a peek tonight. Hopefully it's a bad actuator/motor and not a broken door or something inside the box keeping a door from closing all the way.
  4. Just checked, same issue if I put it on Defrost/floor. On full hot everything blows hot, and on full cold everything blows cold, only on medium heat (and slightly colder) does this happen. On a moderate day like today you get cool comfortable air out the top and hot air out the bottom. Also if i turn it to dash vent or defrost only (no floor) I still get warmer than desired heat out the floor vents, not blowing hard, but enough that it can get uncomfortable. Doesn't matter if it is on recirc or fresh air. I talked to Subaru customer service (not the dealer). They agree that this is not right. The dealer however is trying to tell us that it's normal. Just wondering if anyone else has run into this.
  5. Outside air temp was about 62 Degrees. I checked it with both the AC on and off, I also tried it with on fresh air and recirc air. Temps changed a little, but it was always roughly a 40 to 50 Degree difference between the dash vents and the floor vents. Alos, I checked it at highway speeds (70 mph) and at idle in the drive way. I didn't notice any air coming out the defrost.
  6. By vents I mean dashboard vents (air blowing in your face). I checked it today with a thermometer, the air coming out the dash vent was 50 Degrees, the air blowing out the floor vent was 108 Degrees. Doesn't seem right to me.
  7. We just bought a 2006 Imperza and notice that when we use the bi-level control on medium temp the air coming out the floor is a much hotter than the air coming out the vents. The dealer claims this is normal? Our 2005 Forester doesn't seem to do this Thanks
