  1. have you checked fluid level? what does the fluid look like? bright red, or darker, dirty reddish brown?

Car needs to be at full operating temp, on flat, level surface and the engine running for a proper level reading.

yes its been done its nice looking not burnt and yes it was a normal temp and level ...all is good looking still have strange trouble !

  2. AAMCO, like all other national chain/whateveryouwannacall'em, is a transmission store. They sell transmissions so they can make a ton of money on parts markups. I made the mistake of going to MrTransmission in NC. After 1600 bucks, my tranny went out in less than 4 months (past the warranty of course). The guy came out and started talking to me like we were in a hospital and my child was dying and needed a new heart.

I talked to a local shop guy, and he showed me a parts list book he got from a previous MrTranny employee that worked for him. It was sticker shock heaven.

ALWAYS find a couple local ATRA certified shops and ask them for an estimate.  i too been burned by mr.transmission back in 1990 - payed  for a rebuilt tranny installed in Tennessee and live in va .....it was pile of crap -more like spray can over haul .......i got a 3 year warranty  nation wide ...2 years later my poor subb '78 dies .....tranny blew the mid-chamber seal  the seal which divides the final drive from rest of the tranny ....poor sub it was a great small car -no rust etc sold her in 92 for next to nothing .....main reason due to bring very sick at the time  ...i dont trust most of them tranny  shops now like mr.tranny same with ammco heard more bad of them too !!

  3. Clasic get this weekly it threw a rod right after the heads were done Two reasons one poor cleaning job or orbital grinders used for cleaning. Also if was running with bad HG the coolant was finding its way into oil witch the pcv can remove the moisture but addatives and sugars are left in the oil ruining bottom end bearings. A oil presshure test should have been done prior to removing engine { MIN 10 PSI HOT AT IDLE ] if not bearing time. people assume that because they are going to get the heads done soon they do not have to change oil BIG MISTAKE antifreeze in oil will ruin engine and you will never see it coming. And will never have milky oil or any warning signs just wipeout bearings.

back in the stone ages ,FORD banned the use of orbital grinders ...we learned why  talk of abrasive bits /dust getting in the oil passages and other areas ...nice new clean job but within seconds over 200,000 mile of filings done .....no one needs them  for clean up .....try as you will try no way to get all crap out ........i have pulled many of oil pumps down with super fine and deep grooves in the gears because of them .........a super sin !!

  4. seafoam don't work don't waste your money. ask for a deminstration to see it work, they won't because it don't! check out the conklin products they do work and they will show you they work. you'll have to find a dealer in your area.
