old oil, poor pcv valve, and poor charcoal canister can do it too.
-
I'm blaming the owner/operator
-
I ran a kevlar clutch, operated like a stock one (same grabbing ability).. but you can roast, and roast, and wear and tear, and it still works
-
I still need that skid pan spacer (3" EA82)
-
EA is outdated for a reason.
-
Eh noah beat me to it..
-
I would recommend having a fuel injection service done..
Basically the car runs off these cans for a few minutes and cleans everything out
-
I was considering eliminating both cats and stock muffler in place for 2" pipe all the way back to a high flow muffler..
Opinions I dont want: (removing catalytic converters, yes I know they are there for a reason, but I want the extra 5-10hp instead of being a non-polluter, sorry. I may run with a highflow monolith cat, but for now, I'm not concerned with that in this post.)
Opinions I do want:
Should I bend the pipes like the stock exhaust for highest effeciency or should I make my "Y-Pipe" bend as little as possible and try to make the piping as straight as possible?
Thanks for your opinions.

88 GL wagon - SPFI and D/R tranny, reliable EA82.
-
If you already have the EA82 parts, try it..
-
That may be because you live in Alaska
No, thats definately not the reason.
-
Its not that great down there..

yeah those rubber boots are a must if you ask me, i have a set, and i used them as a bar to hook up my antenna whips.
-
I am working on this currently..
Just for fun, I'll dyno my car before and after.
I think I have figured out a nice way of making one also.. I'll keep this updated.

Yeah moosens can have the salmon I catch, I've been here too long and got tired of the stuff.

What about the spongy pedal? does that go away?
-
i used the stock intake to the MAF, then adapted the k&n cone intake to the MAF with an injector cap..
The k&n filter protrudes into the fender approx 2".

I just bought my 88 GL wagon with SPFI... made that conversion easy
-
How did you mount the leaf springs to the subframe?
-
I'm sort of toying with the idea to drop in a turbo system on my EA82 SPFI block (9.5:1 compression)..
Besides the exhaust and turbo itself, what other things am I going to need to make this happen?
Boost controller?
What about hooking up oil lines and coolant lines? Thanks.

this is correct.the only reason they put sensors behind the cats on newer cars is for emissions control, basically to make sure that the cats are working, not to control the engine. -
If you don't have a meter, you can get cheap ones that work fine for stuff like this for around $20. Probably the most worthwhile tool you'll ever buy.
Stay away from these.

looks like I have a couple of members to meet.
