  1. Well, I got it off. After removing the 2 screws on the shaft, you have to pull out a metal pin on the bottom of the button. Then you can pull the button off with a little bit of force. Unfortunately, the reason I wanted to remove it was to replace it with the MOMO auto knob but it is a push down mechanism whereas the subaru shifter is a pull up. I wish I had known that before.   2. Hello, I'm trying to remove the automatic shifter knob, but I'm not sure how. I have removed the 2 screws from the shaft, but all that does is allow me to move it up and down about a centimeter and twist it a little bit. Is there something else I need to remove/loosen to get it to come off, or do I just need to apply the right amount of force at the right spot? I don't want to guess wrong and damage something. Forgot to mention...it is for a 2000 Impreza. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
